I would keep the button down in the first look, but tuck it in, lose the belt and jacket, and go with something more cropped/fitted over the top if you want to add another layer. The skirt is so summery to me (light color and linen) that the sweater just doesn't work, and the jacket is too BF in silhouette to work effectively with the slightly a-line skirt. I think the issue is with the complimentary pieces, which are really nice as well, just don't go as seamlessly.
