They stay on because they are elasticised all around without being overly binding. Mine feel a bit snug in the toes still, but I am hoping they stretch out. I have been wearing them for short time increments. The leather is thick and substantial and I haven't had any issue with the soles. If you see them you can understand why they are priced in the $300 range. I tried a lot of ballet flats over the years but Tieks have easily been the most comfortable for me. They don't come in half sizes so you should order a size up and down if you are between sizes. I'm on another style board and they are crazy for Tieks there, lots of people with multiple colors and they rave about the comfort.&nbsp;I ordered some in red patent in two sizes but returned them because I felt like the patent leather was not as comfortable around the rim of the shoe (supposedly the regular leather is softer). So not sure if the oil slick Tieks will be stiff or not.
