I bought a pair of the low-heel maple bespoke sandals, and I'm looking to resell them. They're a size 7 and come with multiple ribbon sets and a set of rings.

Here are the specs:

Wood color: Maple

Footbed color: Butter suede

Loop layout: 6-loop peephole (this layout offers the most customization and flexibility)

Loop color: Light tan

Nail color: Platinum

Soling color: The current options on the website don't match with these shoes have. I'd say they're a semiopaque white/clear.

I found them comfortable (though loud as some have mentioned), but I don't wear them often enough to warrant keeping them.

Is anyone interested?

Hi Everybody,

Justin here! I joined Annie full time at the end of 2014 as she was working crazy, mad scientist style to keep Mohop afloat after a horrible business partner nearly destroyed the business in 2014. I will not dwell much but let's say Mohop is back and better than ever. I just wanted to check in and responde to the thread as I love this feedback.

Ered I am sorry Annie did not get back to you in due time. Customer service is high on our priority list and I do apologize for incident. I can assure you that it was nothing personal or decisive and after working with her these past two years I can tell you she always puts Mohop before everything. As for the bum shoe, I believe I know what style you are referring to when the studs popped out. We had a run of wood heels out-sourced and quickly learned that it was better to make them on our own. Please let me know how the shoes are holding up after Annie made the repairs?

Tea...what can I say? I'm sorry to hear you did not love the shoes. Did you ever reach out to us? We are always more than happy to accept returns for a full refund. We do ask that you pay the return shipping on returns but we do offer free out-boud international shipping so that's a plus! Our goal is to keep prices low as possible to make available the opportunity to own custom handmade shoes without breaking the bank.

I would love to know what style of shoe you ordered, as we offer many heel heights and your choice of thong or slide style loop placements (or custom placement for that matter) so you can totally customize the shoes to meet your aesthetic needs. As for the wood we offer 4 varieties of sustainably sourced hardwoods (maple, cherry, walnut and linden) and each have their own specifics weights. Our lightest wood is Linden which I would recommend to anyone with heel weight worries. I also want to touch on the ribbons. Our ribbons come from a family owned business in Pennsylvania and we offer your choice of 3 different pre-made ribbon packs Neutrals, Stripes or Rainbow. We also have over 100 different color and width options in our accessories section so if you had any specific color needs I would have been more than happy to accommodate. I do encourage anyone and everyone to reach out to me at shoes@mohop.com for any comments or concerns. I also would love for you to check our all our new styles for 2016 at Mohop.com/Shop and rest assured everything is made in-house by Annie and I.

Lastly I would encourage everyone to check out our Etsy reviews at https://www.etsy.com/your/shop.....=shop_info

Thanks to all
-Justin
(03/20/16)

All I gotta say is DO NOT buy those shoes. I love the idea of a Monroe style ribbon strappy heel. These are not it..Number one..the loops start too far back so your toes are very far out in an unflattering way so you cant do that style of criss cross that she did and have it look good. Secondly the wood is very heavy so the straps would need to be tied so tight your circulation is cut off before you can keep your soles from flopping..and the wedges are not very dainty nor are the heels a sexy height. Thirdly the ribbons are not soft or very nice or flattering either. They are hard..uncomfortable and dont keep your feet snug. Sure you can pay your own postage and send them back and get a refund...expensive outside the USA and a huge pain in the butt. The flip flops..well Im sure they never wear the shoes they make cuz the loops between the toes are very hard and thick. Painful. Its just terrible. Dont waste your money..there are ways to get a clear stripper heel with clear plastic straps and punch holes in the straps to string some ribbon through and have a shoe that looks like a ribbon strap high heel without the cost or discomfort and they would actually be sexy. Sorry Mohop...but you should really improve your design..or maybe its just not a good design for wood.

Terrible service outweighs love of cute shoe:

I know these posts were a while back, but as it was a top hit on Google, I feel I must respond. I was looking for my "forever" shoe for summer and LOVED the Mohop idea. I found they were comfortable and loved them even more. However, then not one, but two of the studs broke by the end of their first season. I was ignored after my first contact with Mohop but then on my second communication there was immediate response.

It seems that they are, as the last post says, not "always available," as after I sent the shoes back for repairs there was dead silence. When I e-mailed to check on the status I received an automatic response that they were "working on my shoes" and that she was flying solo in the manufacturing, customer service, and sales.

I understand that this was a great product idea with very poor business sense to carry out the details. I will reply back with any results of further communication by the company.

Hi again all! I just wanted to respond to juliawithag's comment - I'm so sorry that the shoes didn't work out for you, but I want to let you know that Mohop has a full return/exchange policy! Unfortunately, we can't take shoes back that show significant wear, but we want to work with customers in any way to make sure that the shoes work out perfectly for each and every one of you. If you see this message, PLEASE contact us so we can make any changes or retrofits to your shoes to make sure they work for you (or if they are basically new, showing no wear, we'd be happy to refund you or offer an exchange for one of our newer styles). Our business grows mainly from word-of-mouth, but if you aren't wearing our shoes, the word doesn't get out! We REALLY want people to wear our shoes as often as possible!!! :)

We've come up with several new styles in the last several months. In particular, our new Moped and Mokobo lines should take care of the issues you experienced. Our Mopeds have a flexible rubber sole, and the Mokobos, while solid wood, are lightweight and have a very thick rubber sole. They are nearly silent, like sneakers - seriously! And they have a lovely bounce to them that make walking so much fun! Additionally, these new styles have nearly 4 times thicker padding, and higher arch support and deeper cupping at the heel and ball-of-foot for even crazier comfort. The interchangeable loops on each of these styles are a fixed braided material as opposed to elastic, so there is absolutely no chance of slipping forward when the shoes are laced securely (which is quite easy to do, it's just like lacing a tennis shoe!)

Please join our Facebook page for updates on the gazillion styles you can create with our shoes: https://www.facebook.com/mohops Also, over 500 reviews of our shoes can be found on our Etsy page: http://www.etsy.com/people/mohop/feedback

We're always available at shoes@mohop.com to answer and questions or comments! Thanks so much for supporting American-made and small businesses!!!

I did get them for Christmas last year and I really like them. Yes, the wood bases do clunk, but then so do my other wooden platforms. I ordered the peep toe version and do not have trouble with sliding forward. Perhaps the slots for more ties at the front in this version, vs the original with less strap options, is why? I did experience the little wooden rings sliding around when I tried them recently for the first time as seen below. If I use the rings in the future I will tie them in place so they don't slide, because I admit it did drive OCD me batty and I stopped a few times in the mall to fix them.

Lyrebirdgully,

Did you ever buy any? I did, and they aren't working for me. I am soooo upset. I love the idea and the company seems really cool. My foot keeps slipping forward in them, regardless of how they are tied, or how tightly they are tied. This results in my toes slipping forward over the front of the shoe. Also, I'm not fond of the wooden base. They make a lot of noise and because of this, I can't wear them to work without disturbing everyone! I wish they'd come up with different, slightly more spongy bases. I have also found a number of people who have had the same problems. They never returned the shoes or complained (because everyone (see above!) at the company seems really nice). I hope they work for you.

Sparky, I keep forgetting about barkingdogshoes - haven't looked there for quite awhile - thanks for reminding me!
Mo, your idea about using different fabric is great - I'm sure now I could come up with a comfortable solution by experimenting a bit with various ties, if necessary.
Annie of Mohop, thanks for your timely input - I'll check out the Etsy reviews.

Hi, I'm not the original poster, but do have a question. I have quite high arches. Do you make footbeds with a taller curve in the arch area for added support? Or is there a standard shape all footbeds are made in?
I will be asking for these this spring for my birthday (already told the BF and it's 7 months away lol). Thanks!

Yay for google alerts, I've just been notified of this post. Thanks for your question, Lyrebirdgully! We have over 300 reviews on our Etsy page: http://www.etsy.com/people/mohop/feedback - all of them positive!

We have a special offer right now with our just-launched Moped line of flats - until the end of October, you can get them custom-made with the shape, colors and details of your choosing! Plus, with shipping, at the current exchange rate, they are only about $91 AUD, which we think is an amazing price for handmade shoes with such versitility (really, we worked very hard to get "handmade in USA" shoes to that low price). These sandals ARE flats, so if you find flats comfy for walking in, they will be ideal for you. http://www.mohop.com/moped_flats/

If you'd like more support, our regular Mohop line would be great for you! The wood sole is super durable, and carved in to an ergonomic shape that's very comfy for walking.

I've personally engineered each style myself, making dozens of prototypes until I achive *the most comfy shoe ever*. I'm actually a total baby when it comes to comfort, so it's very important that I can walk in the shoes, stand in them 12 hours a day, and not have any fatigue or chafing.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments - I'd be happy to answer them here, or on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mohops or via email at shoes@mohop.com.
Thanks!
~Annie

No, but I'm so glad you asked because I've been wanting to look into these and totally forgot who makes them! They sell on Etsy. As for comfort, I'm betting you could thread any material you like through them - stretchy elastic, or silk, or whatever! Ithink these will be my sandal purchase for my birthday next year.

I just came across the Mohop brand by accident; and I'm pretty excited, because with my ultra-broad feet (width G-for-Gorgeous!) any shoe that is not a boot has to be lashed, strapped or buckled onto my feet if it's going to stay on. And to complicate things, I have short toes and sensitive bunions and corns.
I can't believe I've found a site where there are so many sandals I could actually get my feet into! I like all the Mohop styles, both the heeled versions as well as the flats.
Mohop isn't stocked in Sydney, so I can't try them on. I'm praying that that the heeled styles won't flap at the heel, or chafe my skin under the ribbons. Are there any other comfort issues with these styles? The bottom line for me is always going to be, can I walk a fair distance in them? I walk lots every day.
