I find that freshwater pearls have more casual vibe to them due to their non-uniformity. I also prefer multi-strands to a single string (unless this single string is pretty chunky). I don't wear any of them very often, though. I usually reach for my funkier necklaces first, because they usually fit my style better, but sometimes a vintage look just screams for pearls. </p>
