But actually, I don't think they're a good replacements for Docs --- the leather is soft and lovely, but much more delicate hence wouldn't stand up as well to messy stomping as the Docs I think. But then I've never been in a close encounter with a pair of Docs --- maybe the non-boot styles *are* more delicate?</p> <p>ETA: Btw, I'm fascinated but was not really looking into buying them. They are very thick, and stiff, and weigh like a full pair of boots. They also looked just bigger than most ballet flats because of the thickness I think. They made my feet feel like boats. </p> <p>I'm not typically fond of ballet flats because they are so thin on bottom. I have one pair now that I like. I tried the docs because I love their boots and I thought I would like their ballet flats better because of the thicker sole.
