Desmo April- silver and gray sound great! April, I took a picture a few weeks ago.  If I didn't delete it, I will post or I'll take another.  I traced my image in tights/cami and it seemed hourglass-y to me, but I could see other tendencies.  It was interesting to trace as I never had noted the width of my shoulder line.  Sveta- thanks for your thoughts!  My eye is totally accustomed to clunky footwear, as my most frequent hang-outs are farms!  Sometimes I need the reminder that not everyone wears muck boots all the time.  Diana- great pics!  Very helpful. I think she has ankle height boots as well. Personally I would not wear  these boots with bootcut jeans: I feel that they need to be completely visible to make a statement and under bootcuts they just look like clunky boots. I would wear them with tapered legs jeans and pants tucked in and also with skirts. But that's may be just me: after all I don't own any pair of them and never did :-0 April on "doc martens?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/doc-martens#post-1124287 Mon, 30 Dec 2013 00:44:37 +0000 April 1124287@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Tania, if you're wondering about your body type, the main thing is to measure straight across the front, rather than around your body.  If you're an hourglass, the straight-on measurement will differ substantially between your waist and hips and typically your chest area as well.  (No need to do measurements, really -- just do it visually.  If you're an hourglass, you'll see a noticeable inward curve from hip to waist, whereas one of the "straighter" shapes has very little.)   If that's your main question, if you post a photo in very fitted clothing (think "leotard and leggings" or equivalent), the ladies here will help you in no time. Tania on "doc martens?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/doc-martens#post-1124210 Sun, 29 Dec 2013 22:14:53 +0000 Tania 1124210@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Phew!  MuseumGal, I was looking through old posts and I saw the 20 eyelets mentioned but not so much the ankle height ones.  I am fine with wearing them with bootcut jeans.  However, I am not so sure how to wear them with skinny jeans.  I bought my first pair of skinnies just a couple of months ago.  I am trying different things today, but tucking them or rolling the hem doesn't seem to sit right on my body.  Maybe there are factors I am not considering.  Also, thoughts on how to wear with other clothes (skirt/dress lengths, pairing with tights or not, laced up or not, color contrast, etc) would be helpful.  My closet is limited, but I will be purchasing, and it is helpful to have ideas on what might work.  Greyscale and MuseumGal, which do you own and how do you wear them? MuseumGal on "doc martens?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/doc-martens#post-1124200 Sun, 29 Dec 2013 21:57:58 +0000 MuseumGal 1124200@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Not quite sure what you're asking Tania.  I still wear Docs and I'm nearly a decade older than you, and so do others here - Angie herself, and Ceit both come to mind.  They go great with jeans, both boot cut and skinnies Tania on "doc martens?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/doc-martens#post-1124188 Sun, 29 Dec 2013 21:20:45 +0000 Tania 1124188@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I went to the store to replace my snow boots and came home with snow boots and a pair of 8 eyelet black Doc Martens.  I looked at ankle boots for warmth under bootcut jeans when I wasn't wearing my snow boots during the winter.  The new styles didn't appeal to me and as I wandered into the men's section, I saw the Docs.  Perhaps I just need to nudge myself a bit more, or maybe I am just stubborn.  I wore docs (these and other colors/styles) in my teens and 20's (I am now 39).  Anyway, I am working on my wardrobe bit by bit, so I will be making purchases more heavily than usual over the next year.  I may return the Docs, but they are very comfy on my feet as I walk around the house.  Any thoughts on how to style them?  I think I look best in bootcut jeans, but most recently I've been working with skinnies.  I need to get straight leg jeans next, I think, and will try to wear more skirts/dresses when the weather changes.  I stay-at-home with my kids and spend a fair amount of time outdoors. I think I am an hourglass(40+ inches at the shoulders, 39 bust, 28.5 waist, 39 hips), but please let me know if you think otherwise (I'm still thinking about it).  My limbs are narrow at the wrists/ankles, but I have a fuller bust/hip area.  Ha, here is a picture of me with my Clark Wallabees, one of my only pairs of "shoes", in one of my basic-at-home outfits.  Surely someone can help me?!?
