Around the house in winter I borrow quite often. For out of the house his stuff is just too big. I like his t-shirts for sleeping in the summer too.

Oooh. Belts. Hmm, I'd never thought of stealing his belts before. His waist measurement could fit my low-rise jeans, maybe... I'll have to investigate.

Nope - my husband's 6'6' and all torso so his shirts would be enormous on me. We do have the same inseam, though, even though I'm 10 inches shorter than him. In high school I used to steal my brother's clothes, a couple pairs of jeans, a flannel shirt, that sort of thing. But it was the 90s and oversized was in fashion.

I steal his flannel bathrobe.

We're about the same size. Long long ago when we met in college, I was very bad about doing my laundry. So I'd go through all my own clothes, and then I'd steal all his old faded jeans (they were a size too big, but workable), and then finally when those were all dirty, I absolutely had to do laundry. At the time I was also wearing only men's jeans myself (but in my size) so it wasn't such a difference.

Of course! I live for his VERY worn out sweatpants! And certain thick socks because the help keep my slouchy boots up when I'm wearing leggings! But I've caught him in MY socks and even a belt from time to time. Guess we're even

I steal the old tees he wants to donate sometimes. Or his clothes from high school... once he think's it's "worn out and ratty," I think it's "perfectly aged legitimate vintage." Go fig.

I have also been known to buy belts for him and end up keeping them for myself.

I'm single, but I agree re: men's quality vs women's quality. I thrifted a brand new (tags still on, including some spare cashmere thread for darning, which was awesome) men's Lands End navy cashmere sweater last winter to use as pjs for cold weather & the fabric is so much thicker than most of my women's department pullovers! Also I often think the men's stuff has the nicest colours, or at least good neutrals are always available.

Yes, it's true that for a lot of couples, there's a big size difference, which kind of rules out the stealing of clothes! I'm really short, but my husband is only 5'8" and quite slim, so I can borrow certain items. His waist measurement is close to my hip measurement, so I can use his belts. And certain sweaters work. More structured things, like jackets and shirts, don't.

Celia -- socks? lol I guess it counts. :-)

Suz, let me know how it goes with J. Crew boys, if you end up getting something.

It's seriously cold here this week. Well, by my standards anyway (all you prairies gals can feel free to laugh at me). To combat the cold, I've been wearing my husband's charcoal merino cardigan. It's slightly too big for me, but I love the slouchiness and the colour/weight. J. Crew makes good stuff for men. I feel like the fabrics they use for their menswear are higher quality, and the colours appeal to me more. This cardigan has slightly heavier weight wool than the woman's version, better buttons, and better texture. I've worn it three times this week.

I also regularly steal my honey's belts. Does anyone else nick their partner's stuff?
