I first had an inexpensive pair of joggers (Leith) and liked them well enough that I got the EF silk ones and happily wore those for a couple of years. And I experimented with several others pairs that did not work as well...being only 5'1" doesn't help with pants that can't be easily hemmed.

I finally acknowledged that I just don't feel fab in pants that are baggy in the thigh area and eliminated those from my wardrobe. While I do like casual, I am not a huge fan of sporty and the whole athleisure look isn't really me so I don't really wear joggers anymore.

Joggers all the way (although I prefer sweats). I can't stand track pants.
I've always liked the fitted feel around the ankle and the extra material rather than straight track pants.

AJ - I'm so inspired by your look that I'm off to my local Target.

AJ, I love that look so much! I think the key to your outfit is that you don't have an awkward balloon of fabric around your hips. I have narrow hips like you, and I find that many track pants make me look wide where I'm not and then taper in an unflattering manner.

I love the way they feel and own a couple of pairs for lounging but DH doesn't like the look out of the house and I tend to agree since so many people actually wear pajama bottoms out and about these days, it's easy to get categorized into that sloppy look.

I have a really casual pair from Anthro that I like for warmer weather, and a thicker, more sweatshirt-y material with a faux leather stripe down the side that are good for colder weather, but hubs confessed to me that he doesn't love the look of these for outside the house, which kind of soured me on them a bit. Or at least to wearing them around him. Maybe I'll just wear them while he's away. ;-)

I always attempted to wear them with easy but not *too* easy tops -- drapey tops in woven fabrics or tees that still had a bit of polish. Something to offset the casualness and possible PJ vibe of the pants.

I have two pairs of silky pants in this kind of style, but without a gathered or elasticized hem, which means I can roll the hems a little and mitigate any possible PJ factor. Still, I don't seem to wear them much because they're just a little challenging to style for my casual life. Again, I seem to want a bit of structure with them -- my favorite way to wear one pair is with a drapey tee and a structured vest over top.

I flirted with owning w lair of EF silk joggers two years ago, but have yet to make any commitments. The waistbands bother me, and they don't meet my already low "just flattering enough" threshold. Leather joggers intrigue me, but I probably would never wear them. For exercise, I prefer compression gear with zippered pockets.

I have one pair of joggers (outside my fitness capsule). They are linen EF. I bought them for a vacation in a conservative country, found them fantastic for the purpose, and have never worn them since.

My SILs wear cropped jogging pants well. It's a 'active mom on the go' look for summer. They wear them with slip on shoes, loose tank tops and a sports bra. They live in casual and active city where this type of clothing is fine for out-and-about.

Yeah, what Viva said. I love me some juxtaposition, but dressy joggers is something I doubt I'll ever be able to wrap my mind around.

I can't even really find a use for track pants within the realm of actual gear. Athleta refers to them as "to-fro" pants I think -- as in, the stuff you wear to and from the gym, but that is a little too niche for me.

I have always loved the blogger look of the athletic joggers with a slouchy sweater and heels, but I find that a particularly difficult look for real life. I have no idea where I would wear such an outfit, and I am perfectly content being overly dressed. But that is just such an odd combination -- it's for photo shoots only, I think. In my town, I'd just be asking for it.

I like the original 3-stripe Adidas soccer pants (tapered leg and zippered bottom) for casual wear (when I'm trying to be cool - lol) . Like some of the others have mentioned, I have yet to find a dressier pair that doesn't make me look fat(ter). I did pick up a very soft flannel (drapey and lightweight though) pale grey pair from Aritizia just after Christmas on deep discount that i have yet to wear, but looked reasonably decent on me with a big soft grey wrap and white Stan Smith sneakers. I never wear the crepe/dressier pairs I bought last year - that trend was one I shouldn't have invested in.

I've been wearing joggers quite a bit this winter, but only in the most casual ways. I work from home, so I spend a lot of days in a combination of working/cooking/housecleaning, with an occasional run-to-the-store type errand. This photo is old, but it happens to be exactly what I'm wearing today.

I have only worn the lightweight, silky fabric summer version. I like the comfort but find them difficult to style in a way that does not read frumpy… perhaps because of my curvy shape. They seem to only work well for me worn with an untucked drapey tee/tank/top and sandals.

I am still interested in the ones that have a flat waistband, either all around or in front. Sometime a wide, stitched down elastic band works. But like Sterling, I have trouble with the gathered drawstring type adding bulk at the wrong place.
Also I have a certain target amount of taper and width. Too skinny and I get the Ice-cream Cone effect.
I like to wear them longish with loafers.
I did also get the Anthro tweedy pair and was able to tuck them into boots, a completely new (casual) look for me. I wear those with a longer top, though because to me they are too much like leggings.

how do you style your joggers and track pants? I am adding some more to my wardrobe this year. found some heavy joggers in January that are like a big heavy sweater for your legs. they were great for agility trials when it was cold. Just found a cheap pair of thinner cropped ones at Marshalls for warmer weather. I wear them with running shoes and t's and sweat shirts and hoodies, and layered tops. currently I am scooping up all I can find in colors other than black that have pockets, preferably back and front pockets, and zipper pockets are great. If I find them and they are maybe a size bigger than I usually wear I am getting those also.I am also thinking maybe restyling them, like a nice stylish top and slip on sneakers or such will make them more of all day wear for other activities.
