I collect pictures of outfits I like, but I may not put them to use. The best mood board I ever made was one with three different non-clothing objects that I then used to define my style. Every time I go back and look at it I am amazed at how nicely the three objects represent my aesthetic. I had forgotten about the board until recently and when I saw it I was pleasantly surprised.

No. Interesting idea, but I must be a bit technically challenged. Not sure how to make this work for me.

I use Pinterest to collect silhouettes that appeal to me. I also use it to find new and interesting color combinations.

I've used mood boards to help define and put parameters around different capsules. I find that it helps tremendously in achieving cohesiveness. Thanks for the reminder. It's time to revise some boards!

With Pinterest, I collect looks that I like, but I rarely do anything with them but let them sit in my subconscious. This is probably an area where I could do better.

Perhaps I'm not good at Pinterest. I feel like It shows me random stuff or stuff I already like, I am always poking around on magazines and blogs for ideas, and I will come upon an idea I like (drapy olive pants, blue booties, black and white graphic scarf or whatever), but I don't do a mood board -- I just search for what I have in mind.

Do you use mood boards and Pinterest in helping you define your style? If so, in what ways specifically have they shaped how you dress? Do you find them particularly useful when you're in a rut?
