I almost always tuck into skirts, because it creates a better proportion on my long torso and long rise and lets me show off my smaller waist even if the top doesn't have any built in waist definition. However, for a skirt tuck to work on me, the skirt has to hit at my natural waist and fit snugly there to keep the top in (although sometimes I just paper bag an overly large skirt with a belt!). The only time I don't tuck into a skirt is if I'm wearing a short, waist defining top.

With trousers, I used to never tuck, because nothing ever hit my natural waist, and tucking lower down just obscures my curves. Now with forum encourage I'll tuck occasionally into (on me) my mid rise skinnies, especially if I'm wearing a jacket over top. But the vast majority of the time I don't tuck into my skinnies. This winter, I frequently wore a couple pairs of vintage wool trousers, that hit my natural waist and were cut in a more generous manner, and I discovered how comfortable and easy it was to tuck tops in those! So now I'm hoping to find a couple pairs of wider leg, very high rise (it takes 12-14" to hit the smallest point of my waist) trousers for warmer weather to replicate the look. I've already found one pair and wore it yesterday actually!

I'm on the team of short-waisted gals who never tuck. It's a very unflattering look on me, and partial tuck isn't any better than full tuck on me.

But I do look better if my waist is gently defined, so I wear shaped, skimming tops and toppers that work better for me than tucking.

Team tucked and semi-tucked. I find it harder NOT to tuck with pants, to be honest. The only time I feel really comfortable leaving tops untucked is if the pants are high waisted without all the loops, bumps, and zips of jeans. Such pants are not always easy to find.

I also tuck with skirts.

That's not to say I never go untucked. I do, with loose styles of top like trapeze style, and depending on proportions. I like leaving things untucked more in summer -- it keeps things cool.

Tucking depend mainly on the dress you wear. The Half tucks are new trends which can really add a unique sense of style. I love wearing half tuck with sweaters, loose t-shirts, and skirts too for a new look. I am changing my style to new one for more attractive, that is the reason why I am tucking.

I never tuck my tops due to a short and undefined waist. I know rules were made to be broken, but this one is a keeper for me. Now if I had a teeny weeny waist I'd be tucking everything in sight.

It depends on the trousers/skirt and the top, but I often tuck (I do a faux semi-tuck sometimes- pull the back out more than the front- but a true semi-tuck generally doesn't work as well as a full tucking!). I'm another with a long torso, whose legs can appear shortened if my waist focal point drops too low.
But if the top ends at my high hip, no waist lowering happens, then I don't tuck.

I'm on team tuck - half, full, semi, whatever tuck there is, I'm doing it. Unless it is a crop top, it will be tucked. Tees get a front semi tuck to show-off the belt. Like Deborah and Keturah, since I lost weight, I tuck all the time. I'm an long torso, hourglass tending towards pear and tucking in emphasises the waist. I tend to feel overwhelmed & frumpy if I don't tuck in.

I used to always tuck (eons ago!), but I felt like it looked really disproportionate on me because I am short-waisted. Those were the days of high-rise pants. Now, since there are lots of varieties of rise available, I am tucking more, since I have mostly low-rise and midrise bottoms. I am changing my style to be more polished, and I think that is part of the reason why I am tucking too.

I tuck tops with fuller skirts sometimes, but never ever with pants. The idea just feels viscerally uncomfortable to me. Also, it's pretty much guaranteed to look frumpy and lumpy on me, since I have a short torso and a large chest, plus more than enough stomach/hip bulk on my own even when I don't have a bunch of extra fabric squished into my pants.

I do see a fair amount of tucking around here. Some people who probably never stopped and don't really care whether it's in style or not, plus some semi-tucks and some polished, put-together full tucks. The latter always seems to go with button-downs in really nice, luxe materials, worn by people who never spill their lunch down them.

It entirely depends on the outfit, the day, the shirt. But my short answer is: yes, I tuck! Sometimes it's only a partial tuck, or a knotting my tshirt off to the side. But I do tuck, and certainly a lot more than I used to.

ETA: Like Deborah, I've lost weight and have an average to slightly long torso too. Maybe that's part of it?? I just feel comfortable tucking in my shirt. I mostly tuck with skirts, but I'll definitely do a full or partial front tuck with pants.

It really depends on what I'm wearing. I want to get the proportions between upper and lower body to look right. I also want to avoid the dreaded muffin top. I probably only do full tuck about 20 percent of the time.

100 percent a tucker. I have tried so much to embrace faux and semi tuck. But alas, no. I have resorted to weaing camis or t-shirts tucked in, under shirts where the hem is exposed. I like the feel better with fabric protecting my skin against the waistband.

I almost always semi-tuck these days unless the top is designed in a way that doesn't seem right to tuck like the one here in my Finds. I used to not tuck for many years, then I discovered the correct pant rise for my body is a lower rise, and tucking/semi-tucking and wearing belts became a daily thing. I do sometimes wear button downs with the bottom two buttons undone and no tucking for a very casual warm weather look.

Less often, but I do with one or two combinations. I generally choose tops that are meant to be worn out, with shaped hems. I have a high waist pencil skirt that I tuck the odd thing into. As a short waisted person I look better usually with tops untucked.

Always used to tuck because I had a really trim waist and liked to show it off. But now the inevitable body-fat shift is in full force, and I feel the need to camouflage that spare tire around my torso. Trying to figure out if the semi-tuck can work for me. For the moment, I am experimenting with wide belts that cover the area and give the illusion of a trim waist -- although that waist is inches larger than it used to be, so can't use the old belt collection. Even thinking of trying this trick over untucked linen shirts. Or maybe I should try the semi-tuck with them?

Sometimes yes. If the pants are a bit on the low-rise side, and the overall effect helps elongate my torso, yes. I'm more likely to semi-tuck because it's more flattering on my shape. It depends on the rise of the pants, the style of hem on the top, and the overall silhouette of the outfit.

I used to all.the.time.

In the '90s as an adult, my mother would chastise me for "running around in public with your shirttails out" and literally stick her hands in my underwear to tuck them in.

In 2007, a younger friend informed me that tucking shirts was no longer fashionable. It works better for my body type and is much more comfortable. It also enabled me to wear low rise jeans well into my 40s, which was comfort heaven because I have a big squishy belly that the jeans didn't interfere with so I could breathe and not feel like I was wearing a corset all the time!

I do think some of my skirts would look better with the shirt tucked, so it's nice to see that it's a choice and not an absolute.
