Often ,but I prefer not to highlight cellulite so I tend to buy fo hip and thigh and take in waists in many colors but whites and lights can be even more so.

Yes on bottoms and yes on tops if they are knit. I sort of size down in black tops.

No I haven't had to size up with anything. In saying that, If the fit was better on a certain item, and I needed to size up, I would.

Always on jeans - but not on anything else! (Except for the fact that I have been lately sizing up pretty much on everything - not just white items.)

Hmmm...good point to consider for the future. My white jeans feel a little tight now...I probably should have sized up! Sorry I didn't read this post earlier

No, I don't, if something doesn't look good I just don't wear it... Never thought of sizing up white! I do care for the fabric. If it is thin and tight, it's going to show every bump!

I do have a few white things that are definitely smaller than their non-white counterparts, and not just optically. But I treat white like all my other clothing, pick the size that fits right. I don't think my white pieces are necessarily sized up in comparison to non-white pieces

You will find a range in my closet, 6-8-10. It really depends on who is making the item. That said, my white jeans and white shorts are 10's, but The cream cords are 8.

Fascinating. I've never done this. Interestingly, maybe that explains some of the sizing inconsistencies I've found in multiple items of the same size. I ordered two tops from Anthro last month, both the same style, one white and one rust. The white one was at least a half size larger than the rust one. And I have found that happen occasionally elsewhere too. I had thought that it was just the dye, but the fabric is probably dyed first, before sewing. Hmm...

I don't, usually. If it fits it fits, and if it's too tight it's too tight, no matter what the color.

Absolutely. Lighter colours in general highlight any unevenness beneath the clothing, whether that is panty lines, cellulite, or any other lumps or bumps. Fluid fit is even more crucial in white for me, or any lighter colours actually.

Yep, usually a full size in bottoms. Tops are more variable, depending on what they are. Turtlenecks and such, no, I usually do not. But other pieces I may.

I do the same as you. I size up very slightly in white items because I think they highlight any tightness in a way that other items do not.

I was taking stock of my closet the other day and I noticed that I quite consistently size up in white clothing, particularly white jeans and white tops. Partly it is because I think white and too tight, even if it is just a tiny bit tight, looks really awful. I also want to make room for slight weight fluctuation. I was wondering if I overcompensate in the other direction. Fluid fits are in style now and I like the way my clothes fit, I was curious if any other YLFers also go up a size in white.

It it easiest to notice in the exact same item, like my Kut jeans that I have in a 10 in blue and a 12 in white.

Do you size up in white clothes?
