I've had it all lengths. I even was BALD once (in 2001, for the Kid's Cancer Care Foundation "shave your lid for a kid" campaign) -- I mean "shiny", "to the wood" bald, and I was surprised by how many GUYS complimented me on that. It was funny though b/c most of them were trying to convince me to keep my hair long (it was almost to my elbows at the time). One guy even offered me a lot of money not to shave it, but the donations to shave were much more so I wanted to follow through (it was done in public). I grew it out to a pixie shortly after. A bald head gets really cold fast, so I was uncomfortable during that time (wore a lot of hats and toques), but it was so low-maintenance! But he also comments on my legs a lot, which completely mystifies me, since I have never ever seen my legs as attractive. Maybe somehow he is incapable of seeing cellulite. He was quite sad when I rang him one day not so long ago and told him that I had all my hair cut off. Sad, indeed he was ... until he saw me. Furry eyebrows? Cankles? Hangnails? Elbows? Eyelids? Yep, I was terrified of them all. For a long time, It was a huge surprise whenever I got compliments. In this case it didn't even occur to me that these body parts would be _anybody's_ favorites. For example, my husband loves my ... eyebrows?! Really?!?! I don't think I've spent more than 20 mins in my life thinking about them!</p> <p>I'm wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience. Have you been surprised by what your spouse/BFFs think are your strengths (or weaknesses)? If you haven't been surprised, do you tend to find yourself agreeing or disagreeing? </p>
