My BCBG white blazer definitely falls into this category. I can see myself wearing this for many, many years to come. I wear this with distressed jeans far more than with other dressy items. The eyeglasses sweater is another item that I consider perfect because it's just so much fun. The fit & flare dress has a silhouette and color that I adore. In my Finds, the chambray blazer is another perfect item and has pretty much replaced my denim jacket. The polka dot and striped top is another super fun and timeless item for me. The oldest one is a perfect emerald green silk tank that I've worn for the rare special occasion for probably 15+ years. It is the perfect shade of green. It makes it through the wash and even ironing (on low of course). It has a high neck, silk covered buttons and a slightly oriental vibe without being overtly oriental. I love it and have never found a replacement. My taupe suede lucky booties have been perfect for me. I know they may not last forever but I wear them nearly every day when it's cold. They are comfortable enough to walk a mile and durable even in the dust. Everlane v-neck tees in navy and charcoal are my perfect tops time and time again. I wear the heck out of them. Every time I put them on they just feel right. And they are the right price to keep new ones on hand so I never have to wear an "old" tee. It feels elegant yet practical and with the exception of my white ceramic watch, I let go of all of my other watches when I got this one. 3) Eileen Fischer black silk asymmetrical dress- I just love everything about this dress and it's a current favorite. (in finds) 4) Furla cobalt ostrich pattern satchel- great size and color; simple yet interesting. 5) Black patent boots- I don't even recall the brand at the moment but the heel height is perfect and I love the shine. I can probably get one more season of wear from them but have already started looking for a replacement pair; I always want black patent boots in my closet! 6) Silver cala lilies ring- my favorite flowers in a lovely ring that my husband gifted to me. 7) Platinum and diamond wedding band- after 10 years I still love it, not just for the meaning but the style too. 8) Paige flare jeans- great fit, perfect color and just the right amount of flare. 9) AG skinny jeans Wow, that's a lot of 'perfection!' The first two examples that come to my mind are jackets -- surprise, surprise! My IRO blue leather moto jacket, and my long black BCBG jacket are so perfectly me, and seem distinctive enough that they won't date quickly (one is a classic cut but distinctive color, the other just the opposite). I fear the day that black jacket wears out! I think the blue one will last a long time due to it being leather. My other perfect item is my black Lululemon moto pants. I duplicated them in navy, but black is so much easier to work with. They go anywhere and are an essential for FFBO's, but are distinctive enough to feel like "me." They even accommodate the additional pounds I seem to be carrying these days. Again, I live in fear of the day they wear out! I thought I had my perfect jeans sorted for a while, but I'm afraid to try on my old favorites because of weight gain. This summer has not been kind to my waistline. I did wear my Paige skinnies in Seattle and they're snug but OK. And the Lucky Lolita bootcuts are my perfect flares -- a fairly even, fairly dark wash with not no distressing and just enough of a fade that they don't look TOO pristine. I was allowed an hour to look around. I remember running in to the car 5 minutes to spare saying "I've found the perfect black dress!". They thought i was nuts but said, "that's nice. "When I lost weight I had it altered then I gained weight...I thought I would never fit but I can again. ...yay. I had a pair of very simple black leather 3 inch platform wedge, sublimely comfortable sandals (Nine West) that I bought in 1996. I wore them for a lot of summers, long after they ceased to be trendy or even in style, until the platform on one of them literally broke in half. In answer to that question, one of my outfits was "best jeans ever, turtleneck, houndstooth jacket, chelsea boots." I wore an outfit like that in the 80s and I would still wear a version of that outfit today.  I do think items wear out and date, even the most classic or iconic. But I never want to be without a killer blazer, a fantastic pair of jeans, a great pair of chelsea boots, and a turtleneck sweater. No matter what.  Right now, my "best ever" jeans remain CoH Racers in Patina. Sadly these gave out on me after about a billion wears, and now I am searching for a similar jean with a slightly higher rise. I've purchased the Arielles and a CoH crop, both of which are very good jeans for me, but not as perfect as the Racers. May they rest in peace.   I don't have a houndstooth jacket but will happly sub my Reiss blazer. My Stuart Weitzman refined chelsea boots are as perfect as it gets in booties.  My silver cuff bracelet (which I've worn off and on since the age of 7) is another foolproof, can't be without one item.  I think the gilet probably falls into this category also -- I'll be wearing it or something similar forever now that I've met it.  If I bought a Burberry or similar trench coat it would be the same. The only reason I haven't done so is our climate. I wouldn't get enough wears from it in a season to make it smart. I have two pairs of sunglasses that I love - Gold RayBans and taupe large Ralph Lauren.  At the moment I do not want any more because I love them both. I love my taupe ankle boots, I have had them for four winters now and they still look on trend to me.  They are comfortable, stylish and have lasted well (one reheeling). I have an ink/navy sweater that I also adore, I want to wear it every day but don't.  I love the shape, colour and the feel of it.
