Not purposely, but I think most of what I have is black or dark grey, and my scarf is light blue. So I guess they match.

I agree with the coordination idea, not matching... I never buy sets, therefore there is no chance of really matching...

I don't like to match. I try to coordinate. I have brown leather gloves that I wear with my shearling hat when it is REALLY cold. I wear a black knitted cap and black leather gloves and a gray scarf.

It's constantly evolving as I lose things! But last winter: dark purple leather gloves, dark teal scarves, and grey hats (to go with black coats). IMO it was coordinated but obviously not matching.

I just coordinate too. Although I have a fun leopard scarf and glove set that I am wearing together with all my coats. My red winter coat is the trickiest, as I was wearing turquoise and pink with my black coat

We wear coats for so long in Canada you have to have some fun with the accessories.

I don't care for matched sets either. I have a crazy number of gloves (if you saw a recent thread of mine, I have a collection of over 50 inherited vintage pairs, plus my own that I've accumulated over the years, so probably about 65 in all). I will usually choose gloves and scarf and sometimes hat based on which coat I'm wearing and what the colors are in the part of my outfit that's visible with the coat on. My main winter coat these days is burgundy, so my black and grey gloves are seeing a lot of use. I sometimes choose a scarf in a pattern too, since a I have couple of those. I consider the color of the bag I'm carrying that day too. The colors definitely need not match -- they just need to go together.

For me, those colors end up being flattering shades on me that are featured heavily in my main wardrobe -- cobalt, teal, green, burgundy. Choose colors that you love!

I don't match them, but they do coordinate. With my black coat, I usually wear a printed black and white scarf + colored gloves or a colored scarf + black gloves. I have yet to find a hat that looks good on me, but I will probably go with black or grey.

I only have black gloves, so I use my scarf for the pop of color. I don't usually wear hats, because I commute by car, so I don't get that cold. Of my two hats, one is gray, and the other is faux fur.
I find it very difficult to pull together colors, but I don't care for the matchy matchy-ness of many winter accessory sets.

If I'm not matching all of my accessories, then I try to keep the tones similar. For example, I have a long brown puffer that really needs brightening up, so sometimes I will wear it with a jewel-toned teal pashmina and then I will wear my dark purple gloves. The combination of the three colors works together (to me, anyway) but it also allows me to cover up the fact that I don't have teal gloves. As they would say on What Not to Wear, the colors don't have to match, they just have to go together!

I usually don't match them, but it depends on which coat I'm wearing. I think that you might have a universal set of a black or grey scarf and gloves, then buy some in bright colours and then mix and match - a neutral scarf with, say, red gloves, or neutral gloves with a yellow scarf. You might then use the colour on a brooch or earrings or nail polish to somehow unify the whole outfit in terms of colours.

I'm curious if you match your winter accessories, especially scarves and gloves.
I have an expensive, salt-and-pepper winter coat. From a distance black and white are not as discernible, and the primary colour of the coat is light grey. I want to update my accessories, but matching sets look boring to me, and I'm not sure how to coordinate scarf and gloves in an interesting way. Do you have any favourite colour combos if you don't like exact matching?
