The only pair that has ever worked for me is a $15 pair of rose coloured glasses that I found in a booth (not even a real store!) at a shopping mall. I've managed to hold onto them for almost a decade, but I dread the day that I finally accidentally sit on them or forget them in a taxi. I have had the transition lenses but didn't care for them. The last two times I've bought glasses I went with frames that offered matching clip on sunglasses. It limits my choices, but in my case that is probably a good thing since I have such a difficult time actually making a decision. I keep the clip ons in my car for the most part. But since I got some more expensive ones for my birthday, I've found that I actually want to take care of them a little better and because they're made up of much sturdier material, they don't break as easy! To have those stickers they must meet federal standards, although stickers with vague terms like "most UV rays" don't mean much. Sunglasses without the UV dip can do more damage than no sunglasses at all because they cause your eyes to dialate, allowing more UV rays in that damage your eyes. </p> <p>I tend to buy one nice pair of sunglasses and wear them for several years. Since I wear them allmost daily and I don't wear any prescription lenses at all, I figure they're worth the price. I tend to borrow them from him when I drive in bad conditions (too much light, glare, low sun) and they really make me feel much safer when I drive with them on.
