When I wear scarves I wear them the whole day, the only exception is a really warm and thick scarf I only wear to like take a walk in the snow. When I buy a scarf I have to like the look of it. The only thing I test is if the fabric is soft and comfortable against my skin. I normally don't look for very specific fabrics. Besides, I have so many scarves that I certainly have at least one for every kind of weather.</p> <p>Makrame, that first scarf you linked to is absolutely gorgeous! Actually it reminds me a lot of the beautiful floral/watercolor print thin, large wool scarf that I got at Ann Taylor Loft last year.</p> <p>These are also great and don't cause me to itch (I have somewhat sensitive skin), and are fantastic both from a fashion perspective as well for practical uses (keeping it in a purse to pull out in a cold office or on an airplane.) In winter, cashmere can be nice, but is not required for me. The thickness is very important for me too, it has to be middle to thin with the thickness to drape in the various ways I like to tie my scarves.
