Thanks, all! Fallifying is quite fun :)

Lyn, the blue wedges are by Vagabond. You might find them on Zalando, perhaps?

Wow, love love lovelove your blue wedge shoes, Ingunn, can I ask the make? I have one almost similar in coral, s'Oliver, can it be is the same? I would really like to have one more colour, but there is only black available here, just curious:).
I do exacty like you do. Add some toppers, scarves, closed toe shoes, then thights-too-and using more and more neutrals-but not the blacks. Blacks come iat the end, when black opaques come, too-end of fall/winter.

I love all of them. And the inspiration pics. Right up my alley! Makes me want some white denim and a white jacket. Encouraging because I recently searched Parisian Chic on Pinterest and white jeans seemed to appear often. So I take that as a green light...white denim for fall. Is this a trend I missed? I guess it doesn't matter, I can "fall-ify" it!
Just jumping in to YLF again so I'm sure I've missed a lot.

Ingunn, I love your style. It's fairly far from mine yet I find you so inspiring! I think it's because everything you wear looks so "you" and I aspire to reach that point with my wardrobe. And every time I see your sneakers outfits I wonder why I don't think to wear my chucks more often!

I start fall-ifying by continuing to wear my short bright summer dresses for as long as I can while adding sweaters and boots if I have to. Fall is beautiful but my summer went so quickly (and honestly pretty poorly) that I feel I missed my favorite season this year. I'm clinging to the last bits of summer! Also, my entire family goes to Rehoboth Beach DE every Columbus Day weekend for most of my life, so summer isn't quite over until beach season ends. Yes, I will be swimming :)

You look super, especially love #5. You are quite a pin-up girl yourself, Ingunn.

I do fall-ify, great word for it! I am planning to ease in a few darker colors, a few autumn-leaf colors, and some scarves.

I'm cooking fall dishes already, too. Butternut squash with roasted garlic, onions, rosemary. Pumpkin goulash. Chinese beef stew. Ah, fall!

My favourites are # 2 #6 and #5. I learned here in YLF to winterize some of my summer dresses, so yes, I'm going to fallifying too! Before YLF it would have never ocurred to me to do these things, and it is a great way to get more use out of summer clothes.

I adore the looks with the white items, the white jeans and the white dress look great for fall. I try to fall-ify my summer items for Sept, because we often still have very warm days.

I switch to less bold color mixing (greys, blacks, browns, teals, wines) with the summer colors. I especially like to mix these colors with white to freshen up the look. I also find a denim jacket essential at this time of year. And lighter weight scarves help to fall-up a look. I also start sporting my boots in all colors more often, especially shorter one's. I keep an eye on the temps and the first cold day, out come the tall boots. Usually in October.

Elly, I'm the same! Sandals are too cold now as we have these chilly mornings. I also quite like the bare legs with skirt-look for fall. Unlike spring, I still have some tan to show off :)

Day Vies, I'm particularly pleased that you picked #2, since it is an outfit that actually is very *me". It might be a bit more whimsical than #3-4, but I do love the color and pattern-mix. I'm certainly hoping to see your take on fall-ifying when your weather allows it.

I love your highly technical term. I adore all the outfits you've fallifyed. #2 is my favorite but then blue is my favorite color. It's not quite cool enough here to make these kinds of changes. It's cooler but still very humid. This post will be the perfect go-to once I have to start fallifying.

I do try to fall-ify or at least transition. I love your examples here using a mix of summer staples with a few more layers, or a few fall pieces. Particularly love the look of closed toe shoes like chucks with the cropped or tapered pants that show ankle mixed with jackets and warmer tops.

I find that I definitely need closed shoes as our evenings and mornings cool off, and often a long sleeve or jacket, but I still enjoy the sun and warmth on my legs and find that skirts are great for this weather as they provide coverage inside in the AC or in the morning, but are still breezy around noon.

I wish I had more transition pieces for this time of year. I'm hoping to post outfit photos this year when I "fall/winter-ify" my year-round staples.

How interesting it is to read your reactions! Of course, fall hits at different times in the Northern hemisphere right now, and some places hardly at all. I suppose we all yearn a little for what we don't have. To me, summery weather until October or even November is nothing but a dream, but I can of course understand that humidity and heat can be troublesome, too. We are having wonderful late summer/early fall these days, and it is definitely lifting my mood.

Since summer is my favorite season, closely followed by spring and fall, I try to make the most of it. After all, winter occupies at least five months of the year here, and the other seasons have to share the remaining seven. Fallifying and Springifying means, to me, to add some elements of the nearest warmer season into my outfits when possible.

Great outfits! I generally add a top layer and warmer shoes to fall-ify my outfits. It won't cool down to fall temps until Oct here so I have at least another month of warm summer temps.

Fall? What's that? Just kidding. Right now it's hotter than ever, but I notice things like how the days are getting shorter, and how (hopefully!) our Monsoon season will be coming to a close soon and taking it's humidity with it. A little bit cooler, and I can wear a ballet flat instead of a sandal or wear long jeans instead of clams.

I wish I were thinking of Fall-ifying but I guess it just happens later here. Like in mid November. I do have the winter to spring transition which is probably closer to what you are having now. So I do think about it. Of course as soon as I do start thinking about it the temp soars again and before you know it it's 80F in December.

I'm the same boat as Shevia and ironKurtain - we're still in the 90s in my town, so I'm moving towards fall silhouettes and palatte, if not fabrics and weights.

It almost seems as though we do fallify-ing in the other direction: you add fall items to your summer wardrobe by adding layers or denser fabrics. We add fall by changing colours. *laughing*

Mona, it is kind of bittersweet, don't you think? I love the kind of weather we have in September, but inevitably it becomes drearier and wetter going into October. At least we can enjoy creating suitable outfits for it.

Deborah, please do, I'm honored! I think #4 in fact is equally suited for Springifying.

Thanks, Kate!

Suz, that might definitely be the case. But you do have great booties, and your taupe jacket, don't you? Denim jackets? And a leopard scarf? A nice sweater might do the trick, if you are lacking in that department.

Shevia, your temperatures are distant memories for me now. I think we are in the lot 70's today, and that is as good as it gets. No need for you to fallify anything yet, then. I understand the need for a certain change, though - enter summer clothes in fall colors, right?

Diane, fallifying is a great word If you add a few accessories, a pair of booties and a sweater, you really have all you need to create transitional outfits. I'm sure you have most of it already? But of course, a little shopping is always a picker upper!

I don't do this as much as I probably should Ingunn. I love your examples, they all look great and have inspired me too. Like Suz I could probably do with a few more pieces for me to try Fallifying more. Love your new word BTW.

Love your fallification! Although it is still in the 90s here, I do bring out some clothes that look more fall to me around this time of year, although they are still technically summer clothes obviously.

Fab outfits, Ingunn! I love what you have done here. My favourites are 3, 5, 6.

I have been thinking about this quite a lot in the last few days. I've realized that I lack a few key transitional pieces that would help "fallify" my outfits, just as I used to lack spring pieces.

In your case, I like how you have paired white with earthier neutrals (leopard, grey, brown. This, in addition to the layers, does the trick.

I think I need a few more pieces -- mostly accessories -- in those kinds of colours (more taupe!) to help me transition my whites and denims into fall. Yippee! An excuse for a bit of a shop? :-)

I find pleasure in making transitional outfits these days, both to get some more wear out of some of my Summer pieces and at the same time incorporating Fall/new pieces, but still creating something that is functional for chilly mornings, warm afternoons and work (smart casual). Do you do the same? Fall-ifying is somewhat easier than Spring-ifying, but the idea is the same. I pick ideas from all over, but a lot of them are from Pinterest.

#1What I'm wearing today, working from home. The weather is glorious, and I found inspiration here. This is more comfy than sweatpants! BR wrap dress, Chucks.
#2 Another Pinterest Copycat. This one is not for the sunniest of days, yet. Denim jacket, polka dot skirt, black tights, cashmere scarf, blue wedges.
#3 More Chucks-Fallifying. Cropped pants, blazer, gray v-neck.
#4 White blazer-Fallifying. Black lace tank, cropped pants, Chelsea boots.
#5 White jeans-Fallifying. Gray silk blouse and v-neck, black Chelsea boots.
#6 White linen dress-Fallifying. Denim jacket, brown booties, leopard scarf.

What are your strategies for making transitional outfits? What do you think of mine? Comments and suggestions are most welcome. Thanks for looking!
