They weren't an issue then, since the tag doesn't usually show when they're tied on the head. Around the neck is a different matter, though. </p> <p>It really depends on the scarf, to be honest; I sometimes pin the label down if it's particularly visible or scratchy. But I hate the little stub that sometimes remains. There is no way I'm going to be fussy enough to tuck the scarf just the right way to hide them, so they must go. Cut tags are generally scratchy, so it's the thread holding them that I cut, not the tag itself. I don't wash scarves often. For a neckerchief, removing the tag seemed like the right answer. For larger scarves, if it's unobtrusive, sometimes I keep the designer label but cut off the fabric content tag. I only buy natural fibers, which has the nice side effect that it's easy to remember what each scarf is made of. All of them except cotton are hand- or delicate-wash only. I usually try to cut the thread that holds them in place which avoids scratchy remnants. And then I'll use a marker to note down on the tag to which scarf they belong.
