I cut all mine off with those tiny gold sewing scissors that have a handle that is a bird (I have no idea how those got started, but they are everywhere, even at the grocery store). Magnifying glasses work well too.

Be brave and cut off those tags and labels. Antje, I’ll cut yours off if you want me too. An un-picker works wonders.

You can buy teeny tiny pointy scissors, and they are great for removing tags close to the hem.

I also cut them off... carefully. Be sure to look to see if they are sewn into the hemming so that the hem might come undone. In these cases I've trimmed the tag as close to the hem as possible. If the piece left is still very visable, like white on black, I carefully color the remaining bit of tag with a permanent marker to match the scarf or at least so it's not as noticable.

Ha, I just sighed about this issue today, wearing a teal scarf with a stupid big white tag. I want to cut it out but am afraid of ruining it. Love the idea with the magnifying glass, thanks cinncali!

Is the tag sewn into the edge of the scarf and hanging like a flag? Or is it sewn flat on the corner of the scarf with all four corners basted to the fabric?
Personally, I only cut them if they are attached like a flag. If they are laying flat, then I keep them on. I find that a few of the tags on my nicer cashmere scarves that I received as gifts are actually quite pretty as far as tags go.

That is one of my pet peeves too. I just cut a tag off a scarf today. I can sort of hide the tag if I am sitting one place, but if I am walking around, the scarf will move and then the tag shoes.

That is a good idea to use a magnifying glass. I cut too close on another scarf and I'm taking it to the tailor to see if they can mend it.

Ugh, that's always been one of my pet peeves! Tags that are noticeable, scratchy, or long enough to stick out the back really bug me. I always cut them off. Just be very, very careful. Use a magnifying glass if it helps. I've ruined a few articles of clothing while cutting off tags.

PS: What the heck were they thinking, putting a white tag on a black scarf???

If it has a white tag and the scarf is black? Or even if it isn't black and white?

Thanks.
