They technically fit you, but I wouldn't say they're flattering for you. It's not the fit but the cut that's the issue - they're too tapered at the knee - you need a wider leg pant, or a bootcut that doesn't hug your thighs so much.

Sell them on Ebay and make some money out of them!

Thanks guys. I forgot to say that these pics were taken after wearing them while watching TV for a couple of hours.

Sara - I think you & I have very similar pants issues. I normally wear straight leg dress pants. I think what I need to do is try a size down in the pants I normally wear. There's a store here in Canada (Reitmans) whose pants fit me really well before I lost weight, and I think I may have just bought a size bigger than I should have when I restocked my wardrobe. When I was in the store last I tried on a smaller size, and they were good without showing off that upper thigh like these grey ones do.

My upper thighs are why I'm also very reluctant to try boot cut pants (like these grey ones are). The tighter upper leg just doesn't do anything for me, kwim? Straight, wide leg seem so much better.

I definitely think since you bought them (and can't return them) that you should wear them around the house for awhile to see if they stretch. I have bigger thighs too, and usually have more luck with a straighter fitting pant that falls from my hip straight down without nipping in at all. I usually find dressier pants fit better than stretch cotton like these.
It is a hard balance, but I think there's a difference between a straighter leg (not tight or form fitting along the leg) and baggy. If I were you, I'd try to find some dress pants from Banana Republic-I've had the most luck there. Sometimes the sales online or in the store are marked down quite a bit. I don't know where you live, but our local Goodwill is always stocked with BR pants.
Some women have a hard time with tops or skirts, but pants are my wardrobe challenge for sure. After trying and trying for years, I've discovered that BR and BCBG are about my only options for dress pants.

Christine, the pants do seem a little too tight in places. However, often pants will stretch out on wearing. Have you tried wearing them for a couple of hours to see if they adjust? Even if these don't make the cut, don't give up trying other pants a size down. A lot depends on the fabric and cut of the pants.

When I started posting my outfits, there were several comments from people that said it looked like my pants were too big. I came across these (brand new Jacob brand) pants at the thrift store for $3, they were a size smaller than I'd normally get, and so I thought I'd give them a go. Perhaps I just need to alter my thinking as to what is the correct fit.

Anyway, I was able to do these pants up without much difficulty. They do, however, really show off my upper thigh, which is the widest point in my body & I do feel quite self conscious about it. I'm not sure that I really NEED to feel self conscious, but that's another story. Dh thought they were a little tight. I need some honest YLF opinions. If they don't work I won't be sad cause I'm only out $3.
