I like the smaller size better, too! They do not look tight.

P.S. I like your styling, too--the blue and white tee and semi-tuck are fab with these.

That is very interesting about the rise, Pil. Hmmm.

Well, I still have a long rise and a short waist, no two ways about it. Oh well. Such is life. Mid-rise is low rise on me, always. And low rise is...indecent.

Thanks for sharing your "eyes" everyone, guess it will be the smaller size after all. I wouldn't even have posted those pictures if it hadn't been for Suz and her own Dianas.

Oh, and Suz, the smaller size must sit a smidge lower or just have a lower rise - the top of the pants are about 3/4" below my belly button now.

I actually like the smaller size on you, Pil! And GREAT styling! Love them with this top and the semi-tuck!

Granted, my opinion may be influenced by the fact that I know my own do stretch. But I think they fit more or less like your first ones.

I was also noting how long a rise I must have. These come to your belly button. On me, they are a good 3 inches (actually, a bit more) BELOW my belly button!! I think I have a really weird body.

Thanks for the help! I'm adding some more pics for your already overworked retinas as Suz had mentioned the Dianas stretching some. I wore the smaller size around for a bit, maybe 15 minutes while sitting at the table working a crossword. Kind of nervous about the white so I didn't want to keep them on too long. With the bigger size I did more of a dressing room squat. They gave a bit but not as much as they would with wear.

1 is the smaller size after the crossword sit. They *feel* fine, I just worry they are too tight on my fluffiness. Especially from the rear, especially being white.

2 is the original pair styled with a belt and shoes. Does this help any?

I hope the photos aren't too ginormous. I reduced the originals less than usual.

Thank you!

I agree the new ones are a significant improvement over the previous ones. Once you unrolled them, I see that they are more of a classic fit straight leg, rather than a boyfriend. I go back to my initial impression--they look nice! I like Beth Ann's suggestion of wearing the smaller ones around a bit to see if they stretch out to where you want them. However, if they're tight enough when you first put them on that you won't get out of the house in them, they're not the right size. :)

Pil: I think white jeans are all about the styling. Something about the way my photograph makes the creasing much more prominent than IRL. I think these are an improvement. I would wear the smaller size around the house a bit, to see if they give, but I like the way these look now. I'd try styling them completely and then take another look.

P.S. Had a Don's shake today. Thanks for the tip!

Suz, when I was nosing around about them I think one of the reviews said they were similar to the Diana. Hmm, if they stretch maybe I should consider the next size down. I have them, but thought they were too tight. There may be more pictures on the way......

I like these, actually! They are not a true skinny fit, more like a straight, but it looks good to my eye.

I wonder if they are the Kut Diana skinnies from last year? That's what I have. Mine fit snugger and the bottoms seem a bit more narrow than on these, but that could be an effect of your sizing up a bit.

If these are the same jeans as mine, mine stretch out with wear. And the fabric composition is the same. I don't mind the stretch as a matter of fact. I always wear a belt with mine, and they seem to get more "boyfriend-like" with wear, even though they're not technically BFs. And that's just fine. They are pretty comfy. I wear them rolled and full length.

Thanks all!

No, Angie, they are not the Catherine's but rather a skinny.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear about my goal here - I want more of a classic jean.

I'm not necessarily looking for a boyfriend cut, but rather thinking of replacing the white straight leg jeans that are in so many of my posts. My original intent was to wear them through one more season, but I happened to run across the Kuts and thought I'd give them a try.
My ancient computer isn't letting me edit today, so I've added a couple of pics in this post.

1 is the Kuts folded up with the sort of shoes I would wear for spring/summer. The top of the waistband hits exactly at the bottom of my belly button. The hem is about 2" narrower than my current pair.

2 is my current pair of jeans. The waistband goes across my belly button, probably an inch higher than the Kuts. I also bought these when I weighed less.

I'd say the Kuts are an improvement but maybe not "the ones"?

I agree with Ceit, the front rise is too long and if anything I think they look too big. I suspect this style doesn't quite work when you size up for slouchiness, as the fabric looks like it might be too stiff/thick. I'd be inclined to return these and try the real deal (the Catherine's) if you want a bf style.

My first impulse is that these are cute and a nice fit for a looser boyfriend style. My second thought is that they might be a little high waisted for that look, though. It might be worth comparing them to a boyfriend cut.

I think the rise in the KUT jeans is a bit longer than I'm used to but I still like them (I have the Catherine BFs). These look like they fit to me but it depends on what style you are after. Do you want a "skinny" look? These are a little more of a "straight" style to my eye. Which is fine but if you want to roll them up I agree they'd need to be shortened. Do they feel good on? I really have hesitated to replace my white jeans since I haven't reached for them all spring - but maybe it's that the style is getting dated. But I do wear my white KUT Catherine BF shorts.

They are OK. Seem to fit well, actually but not an expert...I agree with Ceit about cuff - fab but too much of it.

I'm not sure. Some jeans look boyfriend-y when sized up and some do not. Hard to tell with white. Agree with Ceit that reducing the cuff could help. The Kuts did not work for me at all, FWIW - too long and shaped for a pear IMHO.
