Hmm. Interesting question! I would say no. I feel I'm very reserved and cautious. However, my *all the way* is apparently extreme.... because my *conservative* is apparently not conservative at all, or so I'm told.

So go figure!

I can be immersive and intensive about my interests, but I'm commitment-shy and cautious too. I think this reflects into my wardrobe too.

I often have lots of similar colours (I went through a blue phase, a turquoise phase, a teal phase, a fuchsia phase, a navy phase... not to mention the all-encompassing parked-in-neutral phase that really sent me scrambling for YLF) and similar silhouettes. But I also hate 'owning' any one of them; I crave variety and change. In fact, must learn to sample in small doses, like Mo does, in order not to be wasteful.

Now I'm dying to see these new boots in 'real life'. I know you don't do photos of yourself, but how about a shot of the boots themselves, when they arrive?

Goldenpig -- I see you understand what I mean! Although I can't imagine you are a boring person. You can be unassuming, modest and on the quiet side, yet throw yourself fully into your various endeavours and be very engaged in what you're doing. Intensity does not necessarily equal loud and brash, in my book.

Mo, I agree that just a touch of something can be beautiful. There are no right or wrong ways of approaching fashion (or life), and actually, now that I think about it, in some ways I'm cautious too. I was always cautious with men, and cautious with new friends. I think that means I'm cautious with my heart. I'm really friendly, but it takes me a very long time to feel like I've "gotten to know" someone. They always feel like they know me before I feel a real connection. But with things not related to personal relationships (and look, that includes clothes!) I like to feel like I'm REALLY DOING it. No half measures!

I guess if I'm jumping in so my whole body goes under, that explains why so often I feel like I'm in over my head.

For me, touches of a look can be just fine - I don't have to jump in with both feet, arms, torso and head ;)
but enjoy those head turning shoes!

Oh yes, I love to go all the way with clothes! Dots on dots on dots on dots on dots! As MaryK said, anything worth doing is worth doing to excess! And I love bold statement clothes and shoes!

In my real life, however, I am much more timid and boring!

Can't wait to see those boots on you!

Ever feel like this applies to you? I just bought these ridiculous UWP boots, but they didn't have my size here, so they were shipping them from the Calgary store. When I phoned to get the tracking number, the SA who checked on my order squealed out, "Oh, you got the Swordfish Hamburgers! Awesome!", which of course made me feel daring and bold and all those good things. Which got me thinking, maybe this is why I like offbeat clothing. It makes me FEEL bold. This has happened more than once (not just regarding footwear) and I'm starting to realize that part of the reason I'm attracted to certain things, sartorially speaking, is because it reflects my attitude toward everything. Why do it if I'm not going to go ALL the way?

Do you have a go-for-broke attitude in life? In clothing choices? In both?
