Definitely not actual leather. Genuine leather garments and footwear almost always have the leather symbol somewhere inside or on the tag. Look at the back of the "leather" - if it's any kind of fabric or knit, it isn't leather.

How to check leather is genuine or not? Price matters?

It sounds like bonded leather to me. It's made of scraps of real leather, and can eventually disintegrate or peel. I think it's awful that anything can be labeled "leather" when it's actually bonded leather. It's like calling particleboard wood.

I am sorry to tell you that this does not sound like genuine leather. Quality leather items can last for decades.

In simple words, leather flaked off from a specific area. The other parts are fine. But the back area from the middle has this issue.

I have never heard of this with real leather. It sounds like something that happens sometimes with faux leather.

Hello!

Actually, last week I took out some dressing stuff from cupboard storage including camel coats and leather jackets but one leather jacket made me crazy because the leather was rubbing in the foam of big pieces.

It was a creepy situation for me because that leather jacket was only 2 years old. I don't know exactly the brand but it was not very cheap. Then I watched several leather jacket repair videos but most of them revolve around stitching them but my issue is about the erase of leather from the back of the jacket. My friend also suggested me to buy any of these leather repair kits but I am not in the mood of paying that money.

According to my mom, I should cut a piece of leather belt and should switch it at the affected areas. In that case, my jacket would also look trendy. What are your views in this regard? Do you think more leather will erase from a jacket? What precautions should I use?

If you have gone through from this kind of situation then also share your experiences.
