I didn’t want to respond right away with what I thought originally, because that’d spoil other people’s responses. Then I got distracted by home things…. </p> <p>Interesting comments. The rural / farm worker vibe really seems to be an “if you know, you know” kind of thing. Ita with everyone who said something about that! The pink sweater is so close, but the color seems just a little bit off, and the length feels dowdy to me. </p> <p>I felt much more comfortable in the roses than the pink. Black is usually to heavy for me, but 15, with my red boots, felt comfy to me. I’ve noticed recently that I pull my full-length sleeves up until they are snug on my forearms. I predicted I’d like the 3/4 sleeves and was right—only caught myself starting to pull them up a couple times. </p> <p>What really sealed the pink sweater’s fate for me was this in today’s post. The pink is also not the perfect one for me, and I’m not sure that’s even organic cotton, so that price seems high. But still, these have much more of the vibe I want. The pink looks good as a color but the cabling and style don’t look modern to me and the fit, while not too tight, is just more fitted than I think is a modern updated look- something more fluid , but not oversized, looks better I think.<br /> It depends on what’s already in your wardrobe and whether you think you need more options ir would end up wearing these instead of some of your combinations and silhouettes that look better and fresher on you. The only update to that look is a current color. If you wanted Pretty Preppy to be your look going forward, it would be a good pick. However, what I have seen in your recent choices has been more Tromping the Moors than Sailing Nantucket. I think the floral is better suited to a bit more moody and romantic style. I'm voting against the pink one because I recognize the brand on it, and have learned to stay away from it. I love simple, classic looks, so I'm drawn to some of their items, but something about the cuts of that brand veer, on me, into that "I'm wearing these clothes because they are practical and tidy and clean" territory that Jenn mentioned. (I'm avoiding calling it "farm wife," because I have a high regard for my family who live in rural areas, and prefer not to use them or their neighbors as a stereotype.) They'll both be easy to work into your current palette. My only hesitation with the floral is the 3/4 sleeves. I find I pretty much always reach for a long sleeve instead of a 3/4 sleeve so those pieces languish no matter how good they look.
