I’ve done this with multiple thrifted or hand-me-down silk items. Immersion in water can permanently change the sheen of some silk fabrics to make them a bit duller or more matte. It's more complicated to explain than doing ! If you want to iron it, do like Jenny.<br /> I hand wash all my "dry clean only" things this way.
