Well, Cleo decided for me. Their server was incredibly slow, and by the time I had created an account, they dished me up an error message and lost the contents of my shopping cart. And with the very slow servers, refilling it was impossible. I guess half the country waited till after 10:00 to pull the trigger. So I gave up, of course.

Thanks for all your input. And I will remember not to wait till the last couple of hours next time.

JR, I may be too late, too, but I would advise against buying things for the size you *think* you will be next year. Even if you try them on and they're just a little small you have no way of knowing whether they'll fit well and look good next year. Those bargain prices may turn out to be no bargain at all.

My 2¢ worth is to save the $62 dollars and buy yourself something (a pair of pants?) that fits perfectly RIGHT NOW! It's tough having a wardrobe that fits as your size changes, but the only way you can be sure of having something that fits is to have it fit the body that you have now. Later, if things are too big, you can have them taken in, but don't waste your money on things that may never fit you correctly.

Probably too late to weigh in on this one. They are lovely choices. I would consider ordering them given how you are moving thru sizes and as you said need to watch the cost of replacements. I would actually try #5 because the colours would be lovely on you and until you try, who knows. Let us know how you make out.

Although they are lovely pieces, those are $62.00 that would be sitting in a closet, for a full year. Perhaps you could layer over and under some of them, but still. Plus, we have the whole sizing issue. I vote buy only if you can stomach the gamble. I would not do it myself. I would concentrate on the season ahead. Are you in good shape for Fall?

Caro, see what I said to Shannon. ;o) Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you. Although I suspect that these things will probably all fit me now, but with room to shrink.

Krista, I never shelve the summer things before October either. More like the end of October. When Indian Summer is over, then it's time. I hadn't really thought about wearing them this year.

CJH, red blazer! Oh, how I miss mine! I must keep my eyes open for another one. Thinking about a navy V-neck cable sweater they've got at Sears too. Thanks for the idea.

All of this may become moot. Cleo's website has been refusing to load for the last 20 minutes. I'm not sure how late I'm willing to sit up waiting for it. Can there be that many people trying to take advantage of this offer at once?

JR - I agree with Shannon's point but I will say the following - we are slated for hot weather later this week and, for the past few years, we've had hot weather right up to Thanksgiving. Last year on Thanksgiving Sunday it was at least 30 degrees! I think you will be able to pair these items with pants, etc., to get you through the next few weeks and see if these colors and styles are ones you like.

Not trying to push too hard, but it's for these reasons that I haven't put away any of my summer stuff and won't until October.

IMO (make of it what you will) it doesn't make sense to buy something that isn't your size now. There is so much stuff out there & there will be next year.

I hear you, Shannon. That's part of what's making me hesitate, I guess. Except there's no way that buying for the body I have now would have worked for me over the last three years. I have had to buy things too small or just barely wearable and then shrink into them. And I've cycled through so many clothes I have been totally obliged to bargain shop. There have been some definite misses with that system, though. I try to wear them when I'm staying at home, knowing that I can purge them in good conscience when they get too big. ;o) But I do hear you enough that I'm still mulling it over. Not for much longer though. It's either abort the mission or pull the trigger.

Love them all. The bright pink and green will really brighten up some of your neutral bottoms. I think you can wear 1, 3 and 4 all year, layering with other warmer pieces. The black/white top would be great with a red blazer or soft purple cardigan, the green blouse would work with black pullover, navy cardigan or jacket.

The prices are not so high as to discourage one from buying, even if they happen to end up as less useful than expected. How long is the return period? Some stores have 30, 60 or 90 days to return; others are pretty limitless.

I don't know what your weather is like now, but the pink over the black/white top could be worn for awhile if it will be warm for a few weeks. The cuts look pretty adaptable and forgiving.

I love the earrings.

LOL, Krista! I almost feel guilty buying online from them when I told you I wasn't going to. But I was browsing and the combination of low shipping and clearance prices kind of got to me. Plus not having to tromp around a shopping centre and climb in and out of clothes. YLF has been teaching me how to order clothes, for sure. I almost never did in the past.

I do admit #5 has me wondering too, but it is supposed to be a good profile for belly camouflaging. I can always return it if I don't like it, but almost everything is just under $10, so I pretty well have to get 6 items to get the cheap shipping... LOL! And I have sometimes had good results pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

I do have one Cleo skirt that I bought at a thrift shop, and you definitely have to size up with them compared to Sears or Reitman's. It's a lovely skirt though, and carried me through three weddings last year.

I'll be honest JR - I really like all of these items, but I've personally stopped shopping for seasons that aren't here yet. By next summer I may be a different size and have different tastes or my style may be shifting. I would worry that buying these now for next summer could be a bit risky. I have learned to follow Angie's advice when she states buy for the size you are now as well as buy for the current season.

Aha! I see that Cleo has succeeded in sucking you in! :)

I love them all - the best part being that you can return anything you don't like to an actual store! I actually returned items to Cleo today, expecting to get a barrage of questions around why I was returning them and I wasn't even asked anything. Quickest return experience of my life!

So enough about that - I'm so excited to see these brights on you!! Go go checkout!!

JR I think these items looks great. #1 & 2 would be very versatile and would look good over both pants and a straight or pencil skirt. #3 is gorgeous and will be excellent for camouflaging a belly (I say this as one who spends 90% of her time attempting to hide her own) and the black and white is really crisp and fresh.
#4 is gorgeous and #5 is the only one I have a question mark against but that it because I personally dont love tops that gather like that at the bottom as I feel they can make the top half look quite blocky (but I am large busted)! Love the earrings, very classic and elegant.

My only other comment is that these peices should fit you now, if they don't I think there is a risk of them becoming orphans, regardless of continued weightloss or not.

Prices are good too! Proceed to checkout

$3 shipping on orders over $50 for the rest of the day. Returns can be made to the local Cleo store.

Rationale for buying at all: deep discount clearance prices, and filling holes in my summer wardrobe for next year.

Rationale for cardigans: a white draped cardigan is something I've wanted for a while, and I am consciously trying to add more white to my wardrobe anyway. You guys keep telling me it's my colour, and I feel good in it. The pink one is to wear over white or black outfits to add the colour component. I'm also consciously moving toward more black and white as my core colours, so this should get some wear.

The three tops are all woven, something sorely lacking in my summer wardrobe. They are all good for camouflaging my apple belly.

All of these things are mediums, which at Cleo is smaller than most other places, and judging from their sizing chart, I am just barely moving into it now. In another 12-15 pounds, they should fit just right. Of course, this will have to be reassessed.

The earrings are also a type I've been wanting as a break from dangly earrings, and classic in design.

All six items should come to $62 with shipping, before taxes.

What say you? Do I pull the trigger? Or should I not take a chance on next year's size? (I have been losing weight slowly but steadily over the last three years, and do expect to be finished by next summer. Life can always bring surprises though.) It does seem to me that the cut of all these things would be forgiving to some variation in weight.
