You're probably right Deborah. I think I would wear this style of boot with dresses, pants or jeans. All my dresses and skirts would look fine with black. The only brown pants I have are wide legged so the tall boots are fine. With jeans I might like to wear a brown sweater but that is more casual so I could wear my brown cowboy boots. I guess I thought I needed them because I have a lot of brown clothes & it probably is a better color (colour for the Aussies) for me, as I am an Autumn. I'm thinking of purging my brown leather jackets & wearing my new black one more. I have a $50 credit to use by December 1 & they are also on sale but maybe I can find something else to use it on.

I see nothing wrong with duplicates -- I am a big fan. (What if that style you love is discontinued and never seen brand new again?)

If you feel like a brown bootie is a missing element in your shoe wardrobe then buying the brown version of a pair you already own is a wonderful solution and saves time! Just make sure you try it on first. Different dye lots are made by different vendors sometimes and as a result fit differently.

I own both black and brown and can't imagine not having brown since I have so much brown in my wardrobe. When getting dressed I felt like I was missing brown, have you been feeling like that at all?

I say to your fantasty you, that brown boots are not as dressy looking as black boots. So you probably don't need them.

My imaginary life says I need the high heeled ones because black doesn't always look good with brown. My real life says I don't have a big enough closet or budget for everything I want. My real life does say though, that I am a Gemini with many personas & I also go to dressy events sometimes. My husband's work & life takes me to dressy events in LA & NY but I guess then I usually wear black. I don't need them for work. I have tall dressy cognac boots that are slim enough to fit under a wide leg pant.

How do you anticipate wearing them? Heeled booties are dressier and look better with dresses and skirts, but flat ones are better for walking. What do your wardrobe and life you actually lead (vs. an imaginary life!) tell you?

I now have 4 black booties, & a red one. None in brown. I can get the brown one on sale that is the same as the one in the photos. It is this one. My red one is casual. I have a flat black suede fringed Minnetonka tramper. Most of my casual low heeled boots are tall boots. Most of my booties are high heeled. Should I be looking instead for a casual &/or low heeled bootie in brown or black instead of duplicating the high heeled black one with a brown one?
