And also, if you're up for it, I think that this skirt could work well with some pattern mixing (more on trend and less "overwhelming pattern" than the skirt with the jacket.) For example, I have a black and white geometric patterned skirt that I recently wore with a black mesh blouse with tiny white polka dots, and LOVED it, and it got rave reviews on YLF as well. Other areas, like HR, are a little more fashion forward, but even there, a patterned suit won't be seen well.</p> <p>That aside, as just a regular suit for work, I like the skirt. It has a nice drape. I can't see the top well, but I am not a fan of the jacket, sorry. I wasn't even planning to scope out skirts despite my burgeoning love for pencil silhouettes. But when you stumble on one in the softest tweed fabric ever, in your favourite black and white combo, at a price that fits within your more limited budget, what's a girl to do? :)I liked the texture -rich matching jacket just as much, and I fell in love with the silky blue shell the sales associate swore I had to try. The result is something I hope can pass muster as a suit, but that I plan to split up into individual components more often than anything.<br /> Thoughts, mesdames? </p>
