At first I thought I'd be able to wear them both ways, but the leather is sooo buttery soft that after a while they start to slouch a little even if you are wearing them "up". I don't mind, since I did buy them as slouchy boots.

Depending on your calf size I'm guessing you might be able to wear them pulled up over skinnies. I haven't tried that myself. Would be a fun option though.

Let us know how you like them and do post a pic;-)

Inge-- Thanks SOO much!! Do you wear them pulled up all the way as well as slouchy? If so, are they easily amenable to wearing both ways? Thanks again!!

Hi Rosemerin

I'm just quickly logging in to reply to your question.

I actually bought these boots a bit too big, but I don't mind that since I like to put an insole in and wear thick socks (or two pairs if it's really cold in Winter;-).

They are indeed quite roomy around the ankle, but I think that's the way it's supposed to be since they are slouchy boots, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. And yes, width-wise they are not tight on me either (that's part of what makes them so comfortable in my opinion).

I've been wearing them on and off for a few months now and haven't noticed any stretching length-wise at all. I'd be surprised if they did.

Unless you feel as if they are very roomy and you are 'slipping around' in them, I think you will be fine. Hopefully other lasses will chime in too.

And congratulations on your purchase, those boots are gorgeous!-))

Hi alll,
I did the cost-per-wear math, bit the bullet and purchased a pair of the Frye Rory Slouch boots, as reviewed by Angie and Inge in the YLF Store:
http://youlookfab.com/store/20.....t/#reviews
They have to be a 10 to keep, and they have 10 potential for sure UNLESS they stretch in the boot part and get any bigger on my foot. Can anyone comment on this based on experience with these boots?
I am wearing them around my house in trouser (thin) socks and they feel fine, but seem a tad big in the ankle, and perhaps also big in the width in the foot part of the boot (but not in length), which is fine now, but if they stretch at all, it could be sloppy. Should I try a size down..?
