Um Yes! I had some Born (I think it was Born coulda been another nice brand..) platform cordovan leather clogs ,I had bought them from a Thrift store oh..2-3 years ago and I decided to get some wear out of them (3 inch platform in the front ,4-5 in the heel) as they would work with that days outfit.
While at work I noticed crumbs on the floor "Messy child in a stroller "I said to myself and went on to clock in. About 15-30 minutes later I really noticed crunbs trailing ALL OVER the store. It looked as if a kid had one of those 6 or 8 count mini donuts and was shredding them up and trailing them around while Mom oblivious to it (or ignoring her kid's mess) kept shopping.
Except there weren't any kids in the store anymore .

Hey wait a minute-- my balance is off! Did I step in something else the kids must have dropped? pulls off clog and looks at sole.
Whuuut?
The foam core clog sole was disintegrating. I( not messy kids) was the cause of the Donut Crumb Mess trailing like a Family Circus comics kid throughout the store!
Fortunately I had alternate footwear in my locker and discovered the problem before I turned an ankle or worse! Much sweeping followed.

When I work several days/long shifts in a row I trade my shoes out daily; on a long shift I occasionally change half way through. I alternate between dansko clogs, birkenstock clogs and a pair of tennies (not my favs). All shoes break down/change over time, but it might just be a little over use and fatigue.

I noticed with my Danskos - 4 years old'ish? - that the uppers stretched over time and they became a bit looser on the foot. So I had to work harder to keep the shoes on my feet and that made my feet and legs sore.

Are you noticing any stretching of the uppers? If not, I'd guess your issue is most likely your intense work schedule and perhaps not rotating your shoes enough (great idea btw).

Good luck!!

I think rotating shoes is a good thing. I've been more or less forced to wear the same pair of sneakers of all things and my feet ache by the end of the day. I do think shoes lose support after constant wear.

I'm not sure but I try and rotate even my work shoes. I wore black Reebok's this morning at the golf course and then my old Adidas runners at my evening pub shift. Yesterday I wore my Dansko clog tennies at the golf course. My feet are sore, too. And my ankle I sprained a few seasons back has been getting sore. I think it could just be cumulative hours on our feet?

At work I wear Sanitas clogs. Denise (Cocolion) recommended them to me and they are awesome. Since they are only worn at work, I leave them at my desk at the end of the day, they are scuffed but not worn.
I've had them for about two years now. Today I noticed my feet were hurting. I couldn't tell if it was due to the clogs or because I've been working WAY too much and too hard.
