I usually find when I get pants that fit me properly in the waist and hip, I have an excess of fabric in the legs.

But I always choose the pants to fit me in my widest part and can have everything else tailored.

I returned an inexpensive pair of white jeans which fit pretty good but I realized I'd rather have a great white skirt than okay jeans.

Peri, the pants are very soft. Angie has their linen skirt in her summer picks post. There are listed twice on Nordies one from this season and some older ones. Read the sizing guidelines carefully because one of them recommends sizing up.

yes. all the time. I'm famous in our house for coming back from work, climbing the stairs to our bedroom level and having the belted pants fall down to around my ankles.

my husband is terrified of what the neighbors think.

:)

Glad to have company!

Eipgal, I'm very interested in those Allen Allen pants. Never heard of that brand but I have really been looking for black linen pants. Are they soft? Linen can be soft or scratchy...you never know what you're going to get.

I totally get this and have the same issue. I just bought the Old Navy BF jeans that Angie recommended and they do not hurt my waist. They are still baggy in the rear but I figure that is part of the charm. I do have to wear a belt with them. They are insanely comfy.
I also have skinny thighs so pants that do fit in the hips often look ridiculous.
I did have some success with the comfort fit style pant such as these from Reitmans ( I know you are not in Canada but they ship and I am sure there is something similar in your area.http://www.reitmans.com/Pants/.....efv1=Women

Oh man - I totally get that problem! After I was pregnant I actually kept some maternity jeans around for a while - they were roomy on the waist and fitted around the hips and bum so well! I just had to make sure that my top covered the unattractive waist line!

I have the same problem! And I have to agree with Christie. I have he best luck with belting regular low rise pants; most denim pants are too thick for a belt to hold them up at the exact right spot. Drawstring pants are better. They slide a bit but don't sag and drag. If you can tolerate a somewhat wider leg, try the Allen Allen linen pants from Nordstrom.

I think I might have apple tendencies, and I have a terrible time with pants. They never fit me right - if I get the thighs right, it's too baggy over my lower legs, and way too baggy in the seat.

I haven't worn pants for like 3 years.

My regular jeans seem to fit like a BF jean in order to fit my apple-y belly. I realized that after seeing other people's posts on the Kut Catherine BF jeans, which I think look great on everyone who has posted.

Not 100% certain I am an apple but I have experienced what you and donnat mention, being able to slide pants off (after a day's wear) without unbuttoning them. I don't know what this really means, other than perhaps we are all wearing ill fitting pants!

In the recent past I have switched to higher rise pants, this seems to help - I don't (think) I have the waist/behind sagging fit issue you mentioned.

Curious to hear what the other fabbers have to say about this. Will be following closely.

Hi Peri
Mine never bag in the butt, however I can pull them off without undoing them.
And as I walk they slide down giving me muffin top. I am constantly pulling up my jeans.

One problem is if they fit in my stomach area they bag in the butt...if I try to fit them in the butt, they cut into my stomach and I find that painful.

But the bigger problem is, especially low rise, sometimes I can pull my pants right off without even unzipping them! My hips aren't much bigger than my stomach after all.

I know...loose weight. But I'm only 126 pounds. Just proportionally an apple.
