Thanks Angie & Medusa!

Its funny - I love that #7 & #8 dress, but I have only worn it once and felt good in it - I wore it with black opaques, brown knee boots and a navy corduroy denim-style jacket last winter... I'll have to play with it a bit more I think. (doesn't help that it was the most expensive dress I've ever bought so I'm reluctant to get rid of it...)

But yes, definitely will wear cami's under those tops LOL

I think leggings under that grey military-style dress would be perfect!

Gosh I can't wait for the weather to cool a little so I can actually wear some of these combo's!!

Here are my comments, without looking at the others:
#1/3 - I prefer it better without the belt. I think this is a cute causal look. The top look s a bit see-through, maybe wear a camisole underneath?
#2 - Cute! I like the dress and how you've worn it in an outfit. You could try adding some pops of color if you want to make it less neutral.
#4 - I don't prefer this look as much, I feel like there is too much going on. What about trying a non-ruffled cardigan?
#5 - I think the gray vest/tunic thing is AWESOME and I like it layered over the black top. I wouldn't be comfortable wearing a top that short with bare legs. What do you think?
#6 - Another cute look! The dress is very flattering on you and I love the pattern.
#7/8 - I'm not a huge fan of this dress. I think you can do better.
#9 - A nice, polished, casual summer look. Very nice.
#10 - Another nice combination. I love the blouse but think it needs a layer underneath.

Well done, Theresa! This was a huge effort on your part. Here’s my 2 cents if it’s helpful:

1.	White tunic – add a camisole and it’s perfect.

2.	Cute combination! Beige is very hard to wear and I like that you paired it with black.

3.	Sweet! Add a white camisole

4.	The proportions are just a little off here. Try the dress on its own?

5.	LOVE this combination!!! But it looks a little short. How about adding shorts, leggings or jeans?

6.	Lovely!

7.	I vote pass on this dress. It’s very short and a little juvenile looking. Are you attached to it?

8.	Sweet! LOVE you in those shorts! Hot.

9.	What a pretty blouse. Pretty just like you. How about a cami?

You are getting so much right.

Well, most of the others have given you great feedback... I just had to chime in with a big HURRAY for outfit #1; it looks fresh and pretty on you. And I really like the gray dress with the black shirt beneath it and think you should try it with some black leggings beneath it. Well done!

Thank you SOOOO much! I really appreciate it and can definitely see some of your suggestions working much better :D

As the weather cools I can definitely see me doing the leggings under the dresses thing - I have a gorgeous pair of red booties that have ruffles down the front that I have actually worn with that black/gray dress with opaques and loved - I can see them working with a lot more combo's now I'm starting to play - like the white tunic + jeans...

I know specs are currently first on my list, but the reality is that I can see with the ones I have, and I think I actually need more clothes for right now...

The sun is back out today and its back to being horribly hot so layering is now completely out again So trying to get dressed this morning was an almighty challenge - I used to live in spaghetti strap singlets but I know they are unflattering on me and I only have 1 denim skirt and those denim shorts in these pics, as well as 2 summery dresses.

So now I'm feeling a bit flat - I was so excited yesterday working out a few layering or "with cardi" type outfits, and now I can't wear any of them straight away!

I think I'm going to make dresses my #1 priority right now - so I can add cardis + leggings etc in winter, but not swelter at the moment.

hmmmm I'm loving the dresses + leggings + cardi and the tunic + jeans looks - maybe I have finally found my style!

Without having read what others wrote, here's what I think:

White tunic - I don't like it belted. I think a long red solid/printed scarf would give a nice long vertical line and add a punch of color.

Beige dress - I like this dress and it's asymetrical button placement! I like the wide woven belt you have with it. I think a long delicate chain necklace with a pendant would be cute and some wood tone earrings and bracelet. As the weather cools, skinny jeans/leggings and short boots would be cute.

Black cardigan - I like the length of this cardigan on you. I think it hits on a flattering spot on your hips. The dark color also seems to slenderize your torso when worn open. So I'd invest in more dark colored cardigans like this.

Crazy Outfit - Not liking look on you. Too much volume around torso. Maybe the black dress by itself with the brown woven belt?

Grey dress - I like the dress. I see more rocker type accessories with it. Maybe a statement necklace with layered metal chains? Or a moto jacket? I could also see this with a boyfriend blazer, leggings or jeans and shooties (shoe booties).

Grey/black dress - I also like this dress but I think it's the style of the red necklace that doesn't seem to go. I can see this dressed up with blazer and leggings/opaque tights and short boots.

Dress with horizontal prints - I like it better with the black cardigan.

The red tank outfit is cute. I'm curious if you add the black cardi on outside (leave the white shirt open and leave the cardi open as well) so that you have the three layers showing? You could try belting the whole shabang so that the layers would all stay open and in line. Does that make sense?
I would also like to see the reverse: dark open shirt on outside and lighter tank on inside.

The white chiffon blouse is cute but not with the shorts. I think its would look much better with jeans or dress pants or a pencil skirt. What does it look like with the red ruffle cardi but with the cardi open?

You've got some good pieces there and glad to see you experimenting! Keep posting those pics!

#1 This is chic! The only thing I'm not crazy about is the jeans showing through, so maybe a floaty white tank underneath?

#2 Very pretty! Maybe a scarf or colored necklace near your face just to add a little color and contrast?

#3 I love the red necklace. I wouldn't belt it though, it looks like it's meant to be flowy and unbelted.

#4 I like the top and dress, but don't care for it over jeans. This would be really cute with bare legs or hose in cooler weather.

#5 This is kind of edgy. It has potential, but I'm not sure about the styling (and sorry, I'm not help with suggestions).

#6 Pretty! This would also work with a scarf and boots.

#7-8 I definitely like this dress with the cardigan more.

#9-10 I love the top half. I'm not really sure about the jean shorts. They're not awful or anything, just not the most flattering thing on you I think. Maybe try a skinny or more delicate belt?

I don't think you give yourself enough credit! You're very pretty and seem to already have a good fashion sense.

theresa- what a beautiful smile you have! you did a great job.
here's my play by play commentary:
#1..lovely! cool and crisp looking
#2... looks nice, but needs a pop of color. that is a hard color for most women to wear- try it with that red cardi instead?
#3- like this one too.
#4- I love this look. I think what's throwing you off is that you have both the dress and the cardi with the ruffles/volume and they are competing with eachother and slighly muddling the look. Try a more streamlined cardi or a more streamlined dress and I'll bet you'll pull off that look KILLER! (or maybe just try opening that cardi)
#5,6 and 7... all look great! Do you have another belt to use instead of the self fabric tie on that last dress? It's not bad, just a suggestion.
#8 LOVE this. I prefer the belt lower on your waist on this dress too. In the last pic where you had it tied higher almost gave it an 'apron" look.
#9 and 10- love these on you. have you tried throwing that red cardi over the last blouse? You'd probably want to leave it opened...

you did a fabulous job putting together some great outfits! you seem to have a great base wardrobe.
I"d like to see you in some cute cropped jackets. Try some out when you start your shopping spree

I agree with Louise on #1-4 and with nanne on possibly switching to a wider soft stretchy belt. I love the red touches with blue and white. The only other detail might be the length of the jeans, but I am not the expert on PPL.

#5 also throws me a little. I don't think it is as flattering or stylish as #6 and #8, but I imagine that with black leggings and different layers it could have a compeltely different look.

#6 and #8 are very nice as is. #7 - I love louise's comment about arguing necklines!

#9 looks like a good MOTG start. Maybe add some gladiator sandals and a flat tote.

#10 looks good on you, but needs more. . . when the weather is cooler, try it with dark jeans and a white cami under the top to make the white really pop. Then add color in a necklace or belt or shoes or bag or some combination thereof. When it's jacket weather, you could add a moto over it too.

I love #1. Just perfect as it is. #2, #5,#6 are great little looks. The dress in #5 is super cute. I prefer the dress in pictures #7 and #8 with a top over the dress, not a fan of layering under it because of the sleeves.
I am not a big fan of #4.

I totally agree with Louise on ## 1- 4 and 6-8. If you find the belt uncomfortable, could you try a slightly wider, more "stretcy" (for comfort) belt and place it a bit lower? As for outfit #5 I think it needs edgier styling, for instance black leggings and heeled booties. I'd also lose the necklace and perhaps use a top in another contrasting color than black. Maybe red would look cool? #9 would look even better with some cork wedges and a casual handbag, and as for #10 I think it would look great with some cute shoes (not black) and some sort of jacket.

And like Louise says - you're looking fab!

#1 A great take on Angie's recent tunic shirt outfit
#2 Add a colourful handbag and you're sorted
#3 The belt looks a bit too high to me
#4 I'd wear leggings instead of the jeans or the dress looks long enough for no leg coverage i think the jeans make it look a bit bulky
#5 I'm undecided about this one- looks military inspired.....
#6 Fabulous, again add a coloured handbag or shoes and you're all set
#7 Great dress i'd leave off the top underneath for me the necklines are arguing if you need the layer underneath perhaps try a round neck top
#8 Oh that works much better than the top underneath perfect
#9 Fabulous
#10 I'm not normally one for top tucking but that looks great would also work with dark jeans

Woohoo you're looking fab x

So as a total newbie to the art of styling, I decided to spend a bit of time this afternoon trying on a few combo's of my current wardrobe to see if any of them work.

I think I've been aiming more for outfits to wear when our summer starts to subside, although its been raining for a week here now and its a touch cooler than usual thank goodness! I also may be going out on Saturday night so it would be nice to go out looking a bit more together than usual LOL

Here's the album - I've added notes to each of the pics - just some of my ramblings.

I would absolutely love some of your comments and really appreciate any suggestions you can give. I do have a fairly limited wardrobe at this stage, so I'm open to lots of suggestions for when I do go shopping! Although new specs are my first priority...

Thanks so much!

PS ignore the rained on hair and the shut eyes in half the photos LOL
