Agree with Diana on the fabric content. I thrifted two pairs of new jeans recently with 20 percent polyester content because they were hot and attracted so much lint and pet hair that I refused to tolerate them. I have no experience with DKNY, though. Also you could be reacting to the dye. Black dyes, in particular, are often filled with chemicals to boost stability and reduce fading but they often have a permanent funky smell.

I get this too, and I don't think price is any indication, unfortunately. My AG Nikki's for example are a bit itchy, esp when warm. It's the particular fabric used for that wash - I felt the lighter wash and they are different. Unfortunately it's hard to tell until you wear them. For me personally, it's always my thighs that get itchy - for some reason the skin there is super sensitive.

I think it's the stretch materials used in many modern jeans. I personally avoid all denim that contains poly or PU, as poly stretch is often itchy. (for the record I also avoid poly leggings and ponte pants.) But the aforementioned AGs are 98% cotton, 2% spandex, which is usually safe, so fabric content is no guarantee. Less stretchy denim tends to be safer as well.

I certainly do not think you are high maintenance. I too have found some denims to be itchy. I can hardly wait to take them off at the end of the day. Perhaps DKNY is using a cheaper fabrication? Return them and try another brand. You should be comfortable.

I don't have any DKNY jeans but I have heard others mentions some denim being itchy. I find some denim has a rough texture on the inside that bothers my skin. Maybe give another pair a try.

I have several pairs of DKNY jeans, various washes and fabrications and also boots and straight. Never found them itchy. A favorite label as the rise is usually more suited to my pref for a natural waist, NOT super low rise. Great cut for my figure.

I have been looking for bootcut jeans and tried DKNY. I bought them from Century 21 in New York. I will be returning them because I find them incredibly itchy when the weather is hot. When the temperature is lower, they are not as itchy but still not comfortable.

Has anyone else noticed this problem or I am just being high maintenance?

Could it be that Century 21 sells the defective clothing? In other words, if I were to go to a department store that sells DKNY Jeans, I would find them to be of better quality.

Thanks in advance.
