Echo what Angie said! All of my pants gape in the back and I often wear form fitting tops, and the lumps caused always bug me (I know, I'm bad for not fixing this ><).

Absolutely, if there is a lot of excess fabric. The puckering will cause lumps under form fitting tops that are un-tucked.

Joy - In her comment section, Kyla told someone that you DO need a sewing machine because you need to pull on the elastic a bit as you are sewing.

Angie - Yes, she also commented that this works best for small gaps. If you are not a shirt tucker, then does it matter if the fabric puckers?

I had a client who did this and the back fabric below the waistband puckered because the excess fabric was not cut away - merely gathered so to speak. This will only work if the waistband is a teeny bit wide (little excess fabric). It won't look fab with lots of excess fabric. I hope that makes sense.

It's a very comfy solution though!

I wish she'd shown a back view of the finished look. It seems easy enough and may not even require a machine.

Check this tutorial out from Kyla over at Blue Collar Catwalk:
http://www.bluecollarcatwalk.c.....tband.html

It seems so easy peasy that I may dust off my sewing machine to give it a try!
