Eyelash tinting is not safe for you.
Don't use them. There are many other ways to create longer and fuller lashes. I wore false eyelashes for my
wedding since I have very thin eyelashes. So when I started to hear about new
products that can magically grow my lashes I hit Google to search it out
immediately. Initially I found that super expensive product called Latisse and realized
that I could never afford it . But I didn’t give up. Flipping through a beauty
magazine I found reviews of a bunch of products that claim to grow your lashes
and Maxolash eyelash product received the top score. I found excellent reviews and a very much
reasonable price so I just went to the site and bought it. A month later I was so glad! For the first
time in my life I had noticeable naturally soft long lashes and mascara
actually makes them look even better rather than just visible like before. Thank
you so much Maxolash.

I can see that you might have a steadier hand Angie - plus practice makes perfect.

There are lots of organic mascaras on market now but since they don't use the same preservatives, they can actually become more dangerous if bacteria gets into tthe tube - you need to switch out more often I would think.

I can see your point, Angie. If you know you have a steady hand and have had a bad experience with the "pros", by all means.
I think if I had blonde lashes and brows I would be more willing to take the risk. But as it is, mine are very much there without any extra help.

I hear you Maya, and I am not trying to sway you at all. What your Mum sees daily is very real and I respect the severity of those situations 100%. You’ve got to agree though, that separating your eyelashes with a safety pin is just plain daft. Daft deluxe.

My situation is unique I guess. The reason I started dying my lashes and brows myself is because the pros would keep on getting harmful dye and peroxide in my eyes, whereas I am able to keep it out. I seem to have more control than they do. Ironic I know, but it’s the truth. Now, I’m very practiced at the skill and can do it with my eyes closed (pun intended).

Anyway, my experience was personal and not general. That’s the difference I think! I'm sure there are plenty of fabulous eyelash tinting pros out thre who do a fab job :0)

Sorry Angie, but my mother deals every single day with patients who stab themselves in the eye with mascara wands and the like, so I just can't be moved on this.

Actually, she recently saw a patient who separates her eyelashes using a safety pin, which I think is not an unusual thing to do (Audrey Hepburn used to do it). You can guess what happened...

It can happen to anyone no matter how careful they try to be. It just makes me cringe. I am not opposed to mascara and used to wear it myself, but I had to be locked in a quiet, enclosed, unmoving space with bright lights and the fullest ability to concentrate. Like Khris, I also would only go for the natural stuff. I draw the line at putting dye and sketchy chemicals anywhere near my eyes. Too traumatized I guess. Luckily I already have long and dark eyelashes though.

Great stuff, Susan! Thanks for sharing.

Maya and Khris, you won’t believe it but I actually do a much better and safer job on my eyes and brows than the so called pros :0).

The idea of chemicals near my eyes at all scares me. As much as I like the idea of tinting my eyebrows and lashes, I don't think that I could do it. I can't even bring myself to wear normal mascara- I get the "natural" stuff!

Same here! Especially since I wear contacts a lot and I don't want to ruin that ability, as well as my candidacy for laser surgery.

The idea of amateurish experimenting with chemicals near my eyes scares the pants off of me. I'd personally rather leave it to a pro. LE says she had it done for $8. I'm sure buying the tint and supplies costs more than $8 anyway.

I have never tried this, but after reading that Angie has been doing her own eyelash tinting for many years, I had to google it. It does sound fairly easy to do. I ran across this article:

http://www.buzzle.com/articles.....nting.html
