Angie, if I’m to reign over the Realm of Ditz, I’d better get working on my wave. It has to be ironically and genuinely cute.

ST, thanks for pointing out the “ingenue” connection. It hadn’t occurred to me, although that word does apply to my style. I might use #3 to help figure out pattern mixes with ditz.

I like #9 most! #3 doesn't look like a ditsy to me since there's a few patterns. I had a couple ditsies a couple years ago, but I passed them on. They just felt too Ingenue for my looks.

#2 and #8 are my favourite ditsies!

Sally, I can totally picture you working in a couple pieces with a ditzy pattern! As for what my son said, I’m much rather he think I look like a librarian than that the way my skirt moves is sexy.

I like all these patterns. I didn't know what ditsy florals were until I looked at the pictures, and I don't have much ditsy in my wardrobe if any. I guess I thought plain was easier to style but these look great...maybe I'll look out for some of these patterns next time I go shopping. I don't know where your son gets librarian from....funny what kids come up with.

Synne, a pull-up is the goal; this is just hanging (I video it so I can measure the time—supposedly when you can do 20 seconds at the top & 20 in the middle, you can do a pull-up).

Rachylou, in together, out together ;)

Brooklyn, to be fair to 6, that’s not an outfit, just showing the skirt. Looking forward to your ditsy mix—and starting to think of doing more myself, next summer. I think the maternity dress is the only thing I’ve done one with.

Sal, you called my leggings cool! <3 They are, ahem, unique at my gym. I like the blouse you posted. I started my own tread because adding 9 items to someone else’s post seemed like too much.

Minaminu, looking forward to the new dress! Funny how what feels “safe” is so individual. Stripes other than fine pinstripes rarely work for me—they stand out too much for me to be comfortable.

You wear it well.

I don’t really ditsy, but as I said on Bijou’s thread, I could be tempted if the right piece came along.

My faves here are 1, 8 and 9.

I think these patterns suit you. I like them too and have three pieces (on Bijou's thread).

I do think they are quite 90s - especially in the flippy dresses and patterned pants.

My favourites are the jumpsuit and your cool workout leggings.

I think the ditsy florals work well with your outfits! Love the outfit nr 9, you seem to be very happy in that pic!

My clothes tend to be either in solid colour or "safe " patterns ( hello stripes!) but recently I bought a floral dress to test the waters which still hasn't arrived... Not sure if it is a good idea but worth a try!

I wouldn’t take kindly to being called a ditz, but looking through my wardrobe for this pattern, I’ve got to own up that I do ditzy, at least in the summer time. I have other pieces where the pattern is more scattered, but these are the ones I think really fit the description. The red dress has several patterns, but ditsy floral features heavily. My ditsy preference is for small, tightly packed patterns that are a false plain. I generally think it’s a good juxtaposition to my high-octane nature, but of the midi skirt that I thought was kinda sexy because of the way it moves, my son said it made me look “like a librarian”. No shade on my librarian friends but ouch.

How bout you? What kind of ditzy moves you?

ETA thinking of this as a 90s pattern, I realize that the jumpsuit in 2, the skirt in 6, capris in 7, and the romper in 8 are all from the 90s. The maternity dresses in 4 & 5 are from not long after; my son was born in fall of 2002. The others were bought in the last 3 years.
