Interesting point kkards. I don't remember the first one, but this one is Meadow Rue. I liked the initial flowy fit but now it pulls a little across the bust.

If I wasn't in such a picky mode I would put up with it, but after my massive purge I just don't want to fill up with things I will want to purge next year.

I would be okay with hand washing some super special item, but casual summer tops need to be machine washable in my world! Especially when they claim to be.

Oh I am sorry to read this, I know how hard you have worked to find a few tops that would work for the summer. If you can, take it back and get a new one - hand washing is in your future

since the loft only sells loft items, they control everything about the items that they sell. anthro on the other hand, has a combination of their own label as well as items that are created and sold by others, therefore they have less control over these items. are there certain brands that you are having issues with?

I bought a few things from Anthropologie (overseas online ordering, so couldn't try on) and found their sizing and quality to be really inconsistent. I've only purchased sale items, but I've had as many items not work, as I've had work. It's never been worthwhile for me to pay return postage. I've since given up and started searching for similar styles locally, where I can be more certain of quality and fit. I'd suggest returning and keep looking!

I would return them and get them replaced. Then, hand wash the new ones.

Oh, they take returns. It isn't money loss disappointment, it is finally finding something I like and then having it not work either!

That is truly upsetting, Peri, and I think I might take them back and complain. I'm not sure you'll get a satisfactory result, but at least it is worth the effort to try. This does not seem right. If you're doing it according to the instructions, this really shouldn't happen.

I liked this one enough that even though it was super long I was going to keep it and get it hemmed. I washed according to the label...delicate cycle and cold water and hung to dry...and still had shrinking. Not enough to try again with the next size up, just enough to alter the fit so I didn't like it enough to pay for hemming.

Both tops were size small and fit the way I wanted...this second one quite loose and flowy. I tried on mediums in the store and they were not even close to fitting, and the shrinking has not been enough in either case to make up a whole size, so there doesn't seem to be a solution. I'm not going to hand wash things that are supposed to be machine washable.

What I don't get is why do my cheapo Loft $14 T shirts not shrink and $60 supposedly "better" items not stand up to washing? Frustrating! I think I may be parting ways with Anthropologie.
