You live in a rainy place but you can't wear rain boots? That's um, odd. I agree with Colette, there are a lot of rain boots now that don't look like rubber galoshes at first glance.

I suppose that if I was wearing leather boots and got them muddy, I'd try to clean them off in-between - although I know the easiest way is often to let them dry and then the dried mud falls off easily. So maybe if you have two pairs you could switch between, and clean them off before you leave the house?

It took me a long time to get over my poison eye for rain boots. There are only so many ruined shoes and wet feet that a girl can take, so I gave in. They are making much cuter styles now that look more like boots and not as much like "rain boots".

Unfortunately they're on my mothers lists of items that shall never be seen in her relatives in public - along with crocs, fur jackets, blanket scarves (which I love), and mustard-coloured anything.

Seems to me like you need rain boots that can just be rinsed off when they get muddy.

It is winter and raining like you wouldn't believe... I have to walk through multiple ankle-deep puddles to get to school. Not fun.

But - does it matter if I wear already dirty boots? I really don't want to get my new ones wet but wearing those already muddy frim yesterday seems a bit, I don't know, rude, when I have clean ones waiting... urgh. Ridiculous dilemma, I know, but it unfortunately keeps nagging at me.
