You've ben very helpful.&nbsp;I've decided to order the cognac ones because oxfords are a great spring/autumn shoe for me. I've tried loafers as an alternative, but they don't appeal as much to me, for some reason. I love them on others. &nbsp;I will put the mushroom ones in a holding zone until next Spring, and if I don't feel them again then, I'll donate them to one of&nbsp;my daughters. Cognac is truly a versatile and classic colour and this style has stood the test of time. My dad once darkened a pair of tan shoes with brown Kiwi shoe polish, applying the paste polish liberally, letting it set for a day or overnight, rubbing and polishing, then repeating until he got the color he wanted. I wonder what cognac polish would do, but you would need to be willing to permanently change the mushroom color and it may not come out the way you want it to. I don't reach for the mushroom colored ones as much as I would like. I imagine the cognac ones are more versatile.</p> <p>I'm very torn on this. I love the style, and I think it works great as a transitional shoe in Spring and Autumn.
