I think one of my favorite shoes was a pair of heeled Clarks loafers that I wore into the ground. Also I had a long phase of wearing slides around this time. I might possibly have also had my first pair of Converse. I wasn't ready for such a daring heel as this boot you linked to. Kind of a fun question actually. I don't remember which color stripes mine were in 99, but I went through a white and baby blue pair, a white and navy pair, and a whire and pewter/silver pair in 99 and the surrounding years. The only boots I had back then were snow boots and hiking boots. (and then they had chunky heels). DH and I started dating in '99, too, and for our first date I wore the mary janes. (although our first date happened a month or so after we started dating - we were in a band together and hung out all the time so the first date wasn't such a milestone!) Gosh, 1999, I was working at a Stock & Station Agent (a rural store that sold merchandise as well as being the selling agents for our clients livestock - cattle mostly), so I tended to wear a lot of jeans and boots - but "real" western boots & jeans, not fashion ones - I had to drive a forklift occasionally and lift heavy bags of stuff LOL (I was predominately in the office but I could guarantee at least once a day I'd be out in the shed selling so it was easier to dress for that then my office work!!)
