Suz is right! I'm still working on getting used to the whole BF thing. I fought hard to accept my body and shape as it is and wearing the slouchy/BF look seemed so opposite of how I should be dressing to flatter my figure. But I'm learning that there's different types of figure flattery - conventional and unconventional - and am beginning to enjoy experimenting with different shapes and silhouettes. It's all a matter of tweaking the trend to suit you - as Angie says, be the boss of your clothes and don't let the clothes boss you around! If the BF thing isn't for you, that's ok.

In high school I wore a men's size 36 or 38 that I got at a thrift store. Seems like I could get used to it again. LOL

You girls are absolutely right about the strait vs tapered. I thought about that too, but honestly didn't think the sillouette looked too terrible because straights are more like skinnines on me anyway. I didn't leave the house in them, though. Nor would I. LOL The butt looked terrible! Probably because they were not meant to be BFs, so they just looked like droopy drawers. I can't wait til my new jeans come! And I may just have to get some BFs soon. I have never seen anyone wear them here. They all just wear the super embellished, bold white threaded jeans here.

I did take me some time to get used to mine. Although my big bum made it easier, I get the bfs just staying on my hips and being loose in the thighs without the rear view being that saggy. I first wore them around at home and got used to the feel of wearing them fast. Then I wore them to meet up with friends and then in the end everywhere else. Sometimes I still feel a bit strange wearing them, because almost no one else does, but I love the way they look on me. You'll have to give it some time!

Congratulations on the smaller size. I'm not sure straight legs and bfs are really the same, as bfs will have a fuller thigh but more tapered ankle.

For myself, I took to bfs like a duck takes to water but I think it's because I got very lucky the first time -- I found the perfectly fitting bf jeans by accident and still love them.

I like the feel of the roominess, but it did take me several wears, and I definitely need a belt! I like different denim silhouettes, and I wear skinnies, straights and bootcuts, too!

Talk to Transcona Shannon. She has been working things out with her BFs since the summer!

I found them easy to love. But I"m so old I grew up wearing painter's pants which were just as baggy (if not quite as slouchy) and my hubby, unlike most, absolutely LOVES the BF look.

I don't know if I could ever get used to a dropped crotch. I feel really unfab when the pants I already have do that naturally.

I think it may depend on how much slouchiness you've got in your style. For myself, it wasn't hard because I already have plenty of slouchy/oversize. But you certainly have to give into the butt surrender quality of them I think you'll find that a tapered pair will be more flattering than a straight leg, since the rolled up bit will be smaller and less leg shortening.

Good for you! I found BF jeans an easy transition as I adapted them after a weight loss so it kind of felt good to have the roominess. A belt is key here to make the waist stay where I want it (hips usually).

Congratulations! I do think the BF takes a bit of getting used to. I have such a flat butt that I'm used to saggy jeans (so I probably had a head start.) You will get used to them in no time. So comfy and fun

I don't have any...yet. But all afternoon I have been tugging at my straight legs (that fit fine this morning when I put them on). They are falling down on my hips (why am I not wearing a belt?), and I finally rolled them up to try out the bf look. That hasn't eliminated the temptation to pull them up, though. lol Makes me wonder if I would ever be able to get used to baggy/saggy. Funny, these jeans were tight a month ago. Guess it's time to go for size 10's, which I haven't been in for years. (Yay!)
