Some of them really slip down badly without having that alteration done, which leaves me hitching my jeans up every time I stand up after sitting. It's also annoying how they ride down when I sit down, and leave my lower back feeling too exposed. A belt like the Hipsi helps a bit, but on a a really roomy waist, the Hipsi tends to slide up a bit, so the fabric pooches out beneath the belt, which is also not a great look or feel. </p> <p>Three pairs sounds about right, I think, for someone like you and me who spend a lot of time in jeans and casual outfits. I think that the light wash denim, darker wash, and black will be a good selection of crops for me. Right this moment I'm test-wearing a pair of grey-Ish bootcut pants that I bought years ago and have never worn, to see if they might be a good candidate to cut off into crops. I had a big credit with Shopbop so I ordered these Rag &amp; Bone crops. </p> <p>Well, I hemmed and hawed about them, and lost track of time. Turns out I needed to return them by yesterday, if I was going to return them. I'm usually really good about return windows, so this goes to show you how crazy things have been when I goof up on that. </p> <p>I took some pics a few nights ago, and I was on the fence. The fit is not bad. The waist needs to be taken in, although you may not be able to tell that in pics. These are *very* stretchy, and they ride down my hips unless the waist is cinched. (My R&amp;B Dre jeans did the same thing, and having 2" taken off the waist made them work much better.) </p> <p>It's hard to make out details of black items in pics, but I lightened these up. The creasing you see is not a result of tightness, trust me -- lots of pants do that on me, and I think the waist alteration might actually help them sit better through the rise. I forgot to take my Fitbit off the band of my underwear so you can see a little bulge there in he closeup, oops. </p> <p>I lifted up my shirt hem so you can see the details of fit, but I would really mainly see myself wearing this style with untucked (but not too long) tops. These sandals were my favorite with the pants, and I also liked the forest green boots with them.</p> <p>They are not the softest material in the world, but I wore them around the house for a little while and they are not uncomfortable -- I think I was expecting a bit more cotton-y denim feel, and these definitely have more poly/stretch content, which was part of my hesitation.</p> <p>What do you think, did I make a mistake in not returning, or do they look ok? </p> <p>Haha, in pic #1 you can see the saddlebags normally hidden when I have my arms hanging at my side in my outfit photos. So these photos expose the full truth! </p>
