On the sole they are stamped Lavorazione artigiana. The seller advertised the boots to be leather. I can't tell if they are real leather, not stamped anywhere indicating so, maybe that isn't done in Italy? Usually these shoes (I own a pair of beautiful boots I'll have to resurrect) are made in one of the farms that make shoes for big brands (Sergio Rossi is an example) without the brand name- so they are more affordable. I have a pair of boots that say the same thing. I erroneously thought it was the brand until reading some of the above posts. The phrase means "handmade" not factory produced. When I looked way down inside of the boots, I was suprised to find out that the brand is Manolo Blahnik. They have about a 2 - 3 " darker shade of brown heel, had virtually no wear and tear and were in my size. To my delight, they fit and as a result, my skinnies and spring look has just taken a big step forward (hooray!). They cost $15.</p> <p>The brand is called "lavorazione artigiana". Has anyone heard of this brand? Did I score a bargain? It doesn't matter really if they are the equivalent of a Junk store special (well ok, it does a teeny tiny bit, but not enough to stop me wearing them!), but having an italian name and being a size 39, I thought that maybe they could be a better quality shoe?</p> <p>Yes, I have googled, but I can't seem to find out much info,except that "lavorazione artigiana" means artisan crafted in Italy. I could not find an online store which stocked it to have a snoop.</p> <p>So, tell me, did I manage to get an extra early birthday gift?
