I'm 5'9", skinny and longwaisted, and the nipped-in waist on the small hits me just right. I like the lapels sticking up, which suits my giraffe neck (figure I can wear them down also), but I agree that there does seem to be something off with the jacket and have been fussing whether to wear it open or closed. It was a very poor fit on me. The stance was too low, even in the petite sizing, and it hung awkwardly when open.
