Hi Alecia, I have been to SF. Only once before, and that was about 9 years ago eeeep!!! I remember loving Alcatraz - do you think it is worth going to twice? Also cycling across the bridge was amazing. I'd like to do that again too. Apart from that, no real ideas actually.

Loulou and Angie, thats for the vote of confidence in these boots. Has anyone seen them in the flesh? I'm dead keen to try them on if I can!

Oh, Tam, SF is one of my favorite places. Have you been before? There are amazing places to shop plus a lot of amazing everything else, too. One interesting thing to do that's free is to hike the Telegraph Hill stairs between the Embarcadero to the Coit Tower. (Embaracadero to Coit is the up direction.)

It is exciting! Mind you I leave in about 2 weeks, still haven't even booked tickets - eeep. What can I say, I am NOT a planner!!!

So far I think the plan is to go to San Fran, NY, Toronto. I really want to go back to Vancouver, but I am unsure if time, finances, and flight paths will allow that to happen. Over the next couple of days I will be posting questions about what to do, where to shop etc in these places. I am excited!! (and disorganised clearly!!~)

Ooooh, how exciting! Where will you be traveling to?

I haven't seen them in person but a quick google search reveals that Sears carries them. I can't guarantee they'll be in the store but if you happen to be near one it might be worth checking out. Sears is kind of a crappy department store for clothes though, so I wouldn't spend too much time there. I am pretty openminded and will shop anywhere. I can give credit to Target, Kohl's, and JCPenney, but Sears is really the bottom of the barrel. I'm sure it's possible to find something there, but not worth the effort for me.

Tanya its so sad when you have to retire a much loved wardrobe item itsn't it!! I'm going that at the moment.

The calf is very wide, considering my calves are 14" I think...but maybe with the scrunch you don't notice it so much. Maya so you haven't seen these in stores there anywhere? I'll be in the US/Canada in just a few weeks (don't worry I will be posting a zillion more US questions before then!) so would love to try them on in person if possible!!!

Tam I looked at those exact same boots when I was searching for a cheaper version of the EM boots. Don't jump the gun on the ribbons though. They can actually be helpful in getting the boot to fit your calf (I know these are slouchy so it doesn't matter, but nevertheless I still like a snug fit personally). You might even find a way to tie them that you like. They're cute but I have not seen them in person, and even if I did I don't think it would help you all the way in Australia!

Cute boots! I think yuou could cut the ribbony bits off... that calf is wider than usual, but not wide enough for me

My dearest boots ever were made by Diba. They were medium height black wedge pair that I wore to death. I wore them pretty much all the time for 6-7 months for 5 years, till I sadly had to retire them. They were so incredibly comfy. They are made in Brazil and the leather was very nice. So I think that it is a very good brand. This pair looks cute.

Here's a photo of my late boots, may they rest in piece:

Has anyone seen/tried on/owned a pair?? Can these be tried on in shops anywhere?

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7496237/c/6603.html

I love the slouchy look. Not so much the ribbony bits. I wonder if they can be cut off?? Very wide calf opening though hey!
