I love your color palette! It's very rich, and looks great on you.

I'm not sure how the Swedish language works, but black pants dress is close enough that we totally understand. I've discovered that English is rather backwards from many other languages, in that the word order is reversed. I was a Spanish major in university, and have also studied Latin and French briefly; and after sitting with the grammar and word order for so long, I get amused when native English speakers say that other languages put the words in backwards order. It may be backwards for us native English speakers, but our word order seems to be backwards from every other language I've studied

Thanks Bonnie, and great that you've also started to experiment more..! And yes, I've long liked the rusty red tones but would not have chosen them for pants previously, and the mustard was probably even more unlikely for me..! I'm glad I've taken the step and I think the years I've taken part here - albeit on and off - has helped me plenty on what to consider in terms of lengths, fits, tucking etc..!

And thanks Tina! I can definitely relate, that's how I always thought before and that's probably my standard formula now too - but now I think it's fun to try different combinations, not scary as previously..! Do you have any thoughts on why your choices don't feel as good at home..? For me I think it's been a process of first learning more about what items typically work for my body type and then consciously challenging my own thoughts on what works for me and not, while still avoiding some kinds of clothes because I know I don't feel comfortable in them... hope you'll keep trying the more adventurous path at times

I like them all! The last one is not at all clown-like! Those colours are so good together. I totally understand what you’re saying though, I usually don’t wear 2 colours either. If I have a colourful top i’ll wear a neutral bottom and vice versa. The odd time I venture away from that formula I quite enjoy it:-)
Good on you for pursuing a more fun wardrobe. I’ve tried to buy various types of more adventurous items in the past but they generally don’t seem like such a great idea once i’m out of the store dressing room.
Keep it up! You are likely an encouragement to others just by your attention to your appearance.

I really like all of these colorful outfits. I've added more color this year, too. I love the earthy colors that have been recently available like the orange/red and mustard you are wearing.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm so happy that I dared to start playing around more, choosing outfits is much more fun now It's great getting these cheerful comments from all of you, and getting ideas from here - especially the mustard+teal combo came from your comments to a previous post, otherwise I'd never thought of it

Slim cat, I'll definitely try half-tucks too, good idea!

Love your first outfit - casual elegance and great posing!
And a big thumbs up on leaf necklace - pretty great.
Can tops in pic #3 and 4 be worn half-tack in spring/summer time
with some sandals in a easy-flow kind of way ( they do work tucked in for sure )?

In the end of last year I decided that I wanted to start developing a more "fun" wardrobe, not limiting myself to not buying things that I for different reasons think that I "can't" wear. (I also aim at a more sustainable wardrobe, mainly buying items that have been produced in a good way etc, as well as pieces I will wear and like for a long time - I normally do wear clothes for many years though)

Here are some items that I've worn these past months, that are new and combined with things I've had previously, that make me very happy!

#1 rusty orange polka dot headband, beige loose cardi, white sleeveless top, bronze leaf necklace, rusty red pants, brown suede shoes
#2 black pant dress (is that what you call it in English?), blue pearl necklace, brown shoes
#3 white top with black polka dots, rusty red pants, black suede boots
#4 teal (nursing) top, mustard yellow pants, black suede boots (this outfit was on the verge of feeling "clown-like" for me, as I'm not used to mixing these kinds of colours, but I did also like it..!)

If you have any feedback or ideas I'd love to hear them
