You might try gear clothing. I found a top and skirt with elastic inner layers s few years ago at Target. They look like a dressy LBD worn together. If you are thinking of shapewear, try tops that compress the yummy a bit but are open over the bra area so that you wear your usual bra. They can be found at Walmart but size up a couple of sizes so that they smooth things out but do not squish.

That Covered Perfectly site looks great! Might be one for one of Inge’s Link Love posts some time.

Hello!

Suntiger, that’s a great idea! Thank you! That would give me a lot of freedom with different brand, colours and patterns, well. Thank you!! :)

Rachylou. Almost. I was hoping for something with a pattern or colour, so I could wear it to work. But those tops with a nice necklace might work. When I first found them, though, they don’t actually mention having any control/compression panels, even though they are the Spanx brand.

Column. Thank, thank you, thank you for the links! I’ll check them all out right now!

Donnat. It’s funny, if any company on earth would have thought to sell it, it would have been good old Avon! I’ll see what I can find.

Thank you all so much for your replies, help and advice! I will use it all to see if I can collect myself a little wardrobe that I can trust to be a quick, ‘no fail’ option for this poor tummy of mine. It will be so nice to have to either keep my arms crossed to try to hide it, or be layered up in compression garmets and clothes all of the time.

Kind regards,
Sunny.

Hi Sunny, this is a long shot but last year Avon sold exactly what you want. They have had some variation of it for awhile. Have a look through an avon brochure, or if you know someone who sells it ,they will know.

Hi Sunny,

Options:

-I would try Soft Surroundings for such tops. They have an ingenious set of solutions for women’s variety of body types.

-Check also Travelsmith, which specializes in convenient fashion for travel. They may have the three-in-one tops you are looking for.

-Finally, see Covered Perfectly: https://coveredperfectly.com/a.....-perfectly for tops meant to flatter the mature woman`s body.

-You might combine it with Shapeez bras, which might offer your two-in-one solution: https://shapeez.com/?gclid=EAI.....gJY5vD_BwE.

-I learned about these last two from Susanafter60, https://susanafter60.com/category/fashion/, whose blog site may offer more tips for you. Good luck!!

I’m not sure I totally understand. You’re looking for a shaping top that can be worn as a top that people see? Like this?

Welcome Sunny! How about wrap style tops? The inner layer would function as shapewear but the wrap makes it appear less body con. I used to have some tops similar to what you're thinking, and I want to say they were ON, but I haven't seen them in years. Maybe some would be on consignment?

Good morning all! I would really appreciate your help! After having 3 surgeries on my upper stomach, I have some pretty intense scar tissue in the area. It protrudes quite dramatically from the area above and below it and is a couple of inches long. I have spoken with my surgeon and while he agrees the area is unusually noticeable, there is nothing that can be done from a surgical (or lipo) point of view.
So in my never ending optimism, I figured ‘hey, no problem! I’ll just find some cute tops with hidden shapewear!’ The problem is that this was 6 months ago and I have Googled into the small hours every variation of ‘hidden shapewear’ that I can possibly imagine, with no real outcome. I do have normal shapewear, which is fine. But sometimes the 6 straps (bra, shapewear and top) just get so stressful, not to mention, obvious. All I really want are 3 or 4 pretty tops (tank or sleeveless or cap sleeve etc) that I could wear with jeans or to work. I naively figured that surely somewhere would sell shapewear tanks with a thin layer of printed/coloured chiffon over the top of it. But so far, I’ve only found dresses (NUE etc) or workout gear. Surely I’m missing something?! Please tell me I’ve just been silly and overlooked a wonderful website/store out there that sells something like what I’ve described! Layering isn’t really an option for me, as I’m that magical weight/shape/height where layers take me from looking like a size 12/14 to a size 18 in two seconds flat. So while I’m not a skin-tight diva kind of girl, I’ve worked too long and hard on getting my weight down to simply ‘replace’ it all with clothes. :(
Thank you so much for your help! I’m sure there must be an answer out there, somewhere! :)
Sunny
