I think that you should try these too. They are very pretty and I think that a more delicate shoe will look good with your dress.

Some other questions to consider - Are the weddings you are attending outdoors? On grass? What is the temperature likely to be? If it is coolish - do you get cold feet easily?

I usually think of a kitten heel as a very short stiletto almost. Short but skinny. This is more square. I think you should try!

Or maybe skip on sandals all together. Is there a reason you're seeking sandals and not some nice sitting pumps?

Hi Michelle! I won't describe the shoe as I think it has been done adequately. I think the shoes are pretty, but they aren't statement shoes. Not that you necessarily want them to be. I would think carefully about the heel as if you have balance issues they may be a little too fine for comfort, especially if you end up walking on grass or gravel. But silver sure will look pretty with turquoise! I can't wait for the next installment of your dress creation by the way!!

Michelle, I like these for you and think they'd be worth trying. The heel is feminine without being too narrow. It's silver like the shoe and looks like it's the width of the heel area of the shoe but curves in prettily making it look narrower than it is from the side. There are 5 narrow straps, 4 from each side and one that goes around the heel and fastens with the buckle. They meet in the top front of the shoe, looking like they cross over one another, although they lie flat. I hope that makes sense. The narrow straps and sweet heel keep them dressy, although they could be worn more casually too.

I'm not great with skinny heels and I think I'd do fine with this one. It's fairly narrow front-to-back but it's decently wide from side-to-side.

Michelle, the bulge issue will only happen if they're too narrow. I know exactly what you're talking about and it's not pretty (happens to me with a lot of gladiator sandals!) If you purchase the right width, the straps shouldn't create fatty bulges. The XW size should be good.

The heel isn't really a kitten heel, in my opinion. It's rather narrow, but not as delicate as a kitten heel. Looks sort of like a thin rectangle to me.

Thanks, guys! This sounds like a complicated one to describe!
Dashrashi says it looks like a kitten heel, which gives me pause...I don't do well on super delicate heels due to my poor balance. Kim, to answer your question, I tend to prefer a stacked heel or stable wedge.
My concern with all the straps is that some of them would dig into my foot and expose the fact that they're thick as well as wide. Noone needs to see buldges on bare feet! Does that look likely to happen?
Also, Kim, do you ever sleep? It's not even 6 a.m. where you are!

Hi Michelle! These are really pretty and versatile. They are quite strappy, I'd say: the vamp of the sandal is made up of eight straps all converging toward the middle-top of the shoe in sort of an asterisk shape, and the straps that go around the ankle are two more legs of the asterisk (so, ten asterisk legs altogether). Those straps are the top legs of the asterisk, but then extend further to wrap around the back of your ankle. Then there are two little vertical straps holding that around-the-ankle strap in place where it ought to be. The really nice thing about these is that you get the security of an ankle strap, but not the leg-shortening effect because of the way the around-the-ankle strap tapers to a point in the asterisk.

The heel is low--just a basic medium-tapered kitten heel--and it looks like the only hardware is the buckle around the back-ankle strap. In the picture, the buckle is small, oval, and gold. But for what it's worth, I don't think the mixing-metals would be a problem.

I actually think these sandals would look really pretty on your feet. I don't think narrow straps look awkward on wide feet if they fit correctly. The sandals have a nice vintage/glam feel that is really perfect for you. And the heel height is charming and very practical. I would say these are definite contenders.

One thing to keep in mind, but this is a very tiny little detail, there is a tiny gold buckle on the ankle strap. Just an FYI!

they are very pretty, but I'm not sure they are right for you.
the straps are very thin. 4 straps across the front of the foot that meet in the middle. then the ankle strap extends from that middle point creating a deep vamp, which is nice.
What I am concerned about is the heel. The heel is rectangular and tapers smaller to the ground. I would think that this aspect would not be the most flattering for wide feet. I also wonder about the tiny straps on wide feet. I think a more substantial strap might be better suited for you.

I apologize for my shoddy description. Written descriptions are hard for me as I am quite a visual learner.

Those of you who know me well are familiar with my loathing of shoe shopping. I have a very hard time finding something that complements my wide feet, and sandals tend to pose the greatest challenge. It's a challenge I need to face, though, as I prepare for my slew of upcoming weddings. I've decided silver sandals will be the best match for my turquoise cocktail dress, and I was wondering what these look like:
http://www.ros-hommerson.com/L.....51208.html

The description sounds promising, and the fact that it comes in a variety of widths is certainly a bonus, but the site doesn't tell me exactly how strappy these are, what kind of heel we're dealing withi (stacked, wedge, stilletto etc), the colour of the hardware or any of that. Still more basic, though, is whether the shoes are half-way attractive. If they're awful or blah, say so and I'll search elsewhere. :)

Thanks, Guys!
