Ok, I'll go check it out on Monday after work! :)
And Marianna, if it works on me and you decide you want one, I'll be more than happy to return the denim jacket favour and send one to you!

*back flips in excitement* (even though I'm not very supple).

This jacket has great potential. The pockets are positioned above the bust area, much like a denim jacket which make it okay in my book. Go for it. Remember that the jacket needn't close.

I kind of like it. That site is annoying - I tried to zoom in but it didn't work very well. Also, the model has her hair right on her shoulders, so I can't see the shoulder details. It doesn't look like there are epaulets, although the description does mention a "shoulder tab."

Personally, I generally avoid anything with breast pockets, but these don't bother me all that much. The pockets look like they're fairly flat, and not outlined in trim or anything, so they do blend into the body of the jacket as much as is possible.

You should know that the jacket is 75% polyester, 20% rayon, 5% spandex - if that matters to you.

I am curious to hear Angie's opinion!

I could be wrong (it would not be the first time, hehe) but I think this jacket would be fab on you, Michelle. I don't find the pockets glaringly big, and I don't think your bust is out of proportion to your frame, so I don't think you have to worry.
But again, it does feel odd being in the minority so I must be missing something.
I would try it, personally. Is it a huge hassle to return?

First, Elly, wow ! That was a good description, holy cow.

Michelle, I love the jacket. Unfortunately, the pockets would not be very flattering. I wonder if the pockets can be removed, because this jacket is a real killer. ( My mom has removed pockets that have been ill-placed for me in the past. And the material of this jacket makes it seem doable.

BTW - how are you doing overall ? I know that things have been difficult for you lately. I have been thinking of you .

Yes the jacket is single breasted with the buttons added for a double-breasted look. I think the pocket placement would be bad for me as an busty woman. Otherwise it is one of my favorite examples of this trend-- this one looks military-inspired, where many of them look like bad high school band uniforms to me. Hope that helped-- I am sure that there is a military jacket out there for you Michelle!

I would skip it due to pocket placement. Sad, because otherwise it is darling! I like the idea of the brass buttons for you. I think it would be just enough mix of trend (military) and old-fashioned classic (brass buttons) to go well with your style!

Elly, you're another one who rocks at descriptions! Thank you!
Do I gather that the buttons are decorative and that the jacket is in fact single-breasted?
And what do you think of it?
A bit concerned about pocket positioning...does it look like it would be a nightmare for a busty person?

Great description Elly. Michelle my concern about this jacket would be the placement of the pockets. The pockets have a tab which has a lovely brass button but as there are pockets just above the bust and just below the waist I think it could bring lots of attention to the boob area. If Angie and the others disagree I will stand corrected.

I do believe a military jacket would be fab with your style.

The length is between mid and high hip and from the photo it looks to have a nipped in waist. There is a grey contrast trim around the bottom and front of the coat and the sleeves (about a half inch wide). The jacket has a mandarin collar. Along both sides of the front is a row of brass raised buttons. There are six of these decorative buttons on each side. Two slightly smaller flap pockets with raised buttons sit right on the chest, the other slightly bigger pair of pockets sits near the bottom of the coat. There are also tab shoulders with buttons. The coat closes with hidden hook and eyes. It reminds me of a feminine take on Navy or Marine dress blues.

Angie's list got me thinking how great a cropped military jacket would be in my wardrobe. I came across this one and wondered if I could call upon you lovely ladies for a description of it?
