You've just got to get lucky with the style, AND wear it with style. Stay away from anything too cowboy-looking. There’s loads of awful thrift options out there, but you are bound to come across a great one if you persist.

I’m into the chambray painters shirt version at the moment – not thifted though.

From what I've, today's denim is definitely more fitted. Just last year, during my big closet clean out, I got rid of a denim shirt, When I heard denim shirts were back in style, I was frustrated that I'd gotten rid of it. But after seeing catalogs and Angie's post on it, I realized it never would have worked in the current fashion. Wa-ay too big.

Sarah, I remember Angie saying a thrifted denim shirt would work as well as a designer style. I guess it's all in the fit.

I've been wondering the same thing. I just went thrifting today and saw tons of denim and chambray shirts in both mens and womens sizes and wondered if those would be just as good as the $100 versions available now.

Ok, what's the difference in fit? Or, is there any? I mean, "back in the day" we used to wear the oversize denim with leggings - are the denim shirts of today more fitted?
